Out of a few things my auntie wanted but I did not want to buy her Spam or corned beef anyways... I sent her over lettuce and banana's instead lol. She resorts to WWll Hawaii survival mode... wait she is always in it. lol. She must not be the only one because I could not find her corned beef at the smaller stores either lol. Banana's it is then.
OMG! My auntie still practices WWll mode even though she has a heart condition and shouldn't be eating any meat of the "canned" variety. And after my grandma died, we found so much canned meat in her cupboards she could have fed the lions! I have to admit though...both sets of grandparents instilled that "be prepared or be scared" in both my mom and dad, who then passed it down to me. Just like stashing cash under the bed...I have our food hidden in niche places.
Has anybody heard of this site? covid19.healthdata.org?
https://covid19.healthdata.org/It is pretty fantastic. You can see the projections broken down by states. This is the BEST CASE safe social distancing, wash hands, shelter @ home scenario.
I can get so lost in my rural world that I can forget what we are up against. On that note- Stay well all!
Yes! That's a good one TropicalBabies!! We also have announcements each day via the county at 2:30 PM. Even though my husband is telecommuting at this time, he is mandated to wear a mask (all county employees are - regardless of onsite location) if he goes outside the house, and only go out to get gas (ha! - we don't go no where!) food or medical services. We get lost in our rural world too. I feel bad for the people who hate staying at home. They must be going cuckoo for cocoa puffs!!

Guess I'll be looking up how much fertilizer to use on each bed. I do have some compost available to use so that should help as well. I started working on the plans for the coop extension. It's more of a grow out coop and run for new chickens. I wanted to make it large enough to brood and grow out meat birds in the future as well as pullets. I'm thinking it might be better to have the materials delivered before the anticipated coronavirus surge that is predicted for Massachusetts somewhere between the next two weeks. I can store the stuff in the garage until I can start building. This is normally my real busy time of year dealing with garden prep and chickens so the "social distancing" thing isn't too big of a deal right now. As long as I don't run out of TP, I can do this. Then there's the little matter of the annual auto inspection is due this month. I'm guessing they are allowing for extensions. Thanks again for the lovely photos all. And what a clever idea
) Again Bravo
