What did you do in the garden today?

In my case I'm planning on doing green globe with 5 foot rows and 6 foot spacing. What are your thoughts there?

Are you growing from seed? Root divisions are a lot easier to get off the ground. Seeds can take up to 60 days and don't always come to fruition :fl

Make sure you have better than adequate drainage *and* full sunlight. The dirt was awful where I grew them (hard and dry), but I gave it a really good dig-dug (8 in. deep), and then factored in nutrient-rich soil heavy on nitrogen, along with my compost full of things from the kitchen, yard, and of course, chicken s**t. They also need a LOT of H20 and sun so be sure you space them as such.

In addition, feed them, Seymour!

Sorry...had to throw in a "Little Shop of Horrors" there...

...but they're heavy feeders so be sure to give them a good supper every 2 weeks or so.

Keep us posted!!!

Little less then a month, some where a little dehydrated when we got them it appeared. You know how the big box stores are.
Ok so I was off a little we got the plants on March 24th
I’m sure they’ll perk up soon!! Hasn’t been that long. Can take a while to get over the transplant shock and dehydration. I would definitely mulch though and follow the fertilizer directions so you don’t overdo it but a little extra might be good or maybe some compost if you have it.

And yes they definitely don’t take the best care of them!!

It was a lovely day (the sun came out!) and I took advantage of it during computer breaks

Project #1 -- Bottom half of Greenhouse door broke (glass panes, wood frames, and all) so did some jury rigging until I hear back from my friend's husband who is a carpenter of the biblical variety. *I don't have that gift, unfortunately.

After that, I was fairly taxed, so I farted around with my new seedlings, tended to those shooting up, pulled weeds, and tilled the dirt in my large container pots. That's where I plan on housing my tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, chili and sunflowers.

We also have another project on the horizon which includes T posts and keeping chickens OUT. Already got the gate installed...at least one thing done.

I went to a friend of my niece's. This lady had some bee stuff she wanted to get out of her garage. I got a bee suit for $20. A bunch of new frames and beeswax. I also picked up 2 brood boxes and 2 supers as well as the top and the bottom for it. She also gave me some frames with drawn out comb on it. $100 for all of that.
I know to be leary of using used brood boxes and supers. But I am hoping they will be alright! Hopefully, I won't regret those words. :fl
I painted the outside of them when I got them home so now they will match the other hive I have. A sweet friend of mine painted my first hive for me. Well, I painted the base color and she painted a design/picture on 2 sides for me. It turned out awesome!! I am hoping to go pick them up tomorrow ( while social distancing). Then I will paint over all of it with a sealer.
I also called the bee store today to see what the status of the bee shipment is. It turns out that she did not have my correct email address so I have not been getting her weekly emails. :he But we got this fixed now! I never did find out an expected due date for my bees. 😂 So I don't know if I should expect them this month or next month. If I don't find out in a week or so, I will call her back.
I peeked in (through a hole) at my wagon greenhouse. I could see that I have sprouts in at least 7 of the trays/pots!! Now if it would only warm up!
