What did you do in the garden today?

We managed 8 inches of snow. AND it was warm enough today for it ALL to melt! Works for me.
I did plow the roads this morning as the drifts were 14 inches and the man at the end of the road is on oxygen. Even the bigger trucks had a problem in the deep drifts it was such a wet and slippy snow.

I'm taking the winter walls of the chicken run tomorrow if the wind behaves. I'm ready to start mucking out the winter bedding in the barn, but will hold off until the second week in May.

Shop keeps selling out, so yay. I have materials for 90 more then I'll either have to go shopping or figure something out. I'm tired, it's a good tired.

Welcome (Velkommen) Pasha!

Wow! That is truly impressive @Pasha838. And like @igorsMistress mentioned, I can't wait to see pics!! And of the goats too :love my husband and I want to adopt but need to reinforce our area first so the predators can't get to them.

Keep those awesome pics coming -- along with the food you make in the new kitchen!!! Especially if it involves pizza :bow

I have now only bad camera on cheap old mobile phone, but i can post the voice of my goat Zabodalkin. It`s a big and sometimes angry goat  He is very jealous and when I come to milk his brides, he begin to be angry.

It another video, last summer. Now this goats are adult, and have some young goatlings.
(and frankly 2 goats from this video i have eaten when they was big).

I let my goats walk in the forest, but i always walk width them, i usually sit near of the herd and read any book. I can`t let them walk alone, because it can be danger or they enter to the village and begin to eat any flovers near of the areas of my neighbours or another people ))

Evening All!

Besides work-work, day was spent cutting, splitting, and storing wood as the rain is moving in this evening and lasting for a few. I also can't believe how many weeds we have! Going to have to bust out the weed whacker soon. Argh. I don't like that thing, and it doesn't like me :he

In addition, brought some of our plants and all seedlings inside to keep warm. Last thing they need is a cold shower :rant

Had to treat my kale and other leafy greens for aphids. I hate how those buggers congregate in the tiniest of spots. Then I have to go around with Q-tips and a bowl of H20 an hour or so after I treat and spot-wipe the leaves. Slimy varmints!!

But I am eggscited about my find yesterday! I love asparagus so I felt like I struck gold. Ha! There were a few stalks that needed to be pulled immediately (edit: cut at the base - thank you @karenerwin for noticing my typo!) but I left several that haven't come to fruition.

Btw: I can't wait to visit Russia. Lifelong dream as I love the ballet...

Ah, i know this story. There are a monument near of the river where living this fish. But i never was there, because travel is too expensive for me, i always have another plans :) My mother was in St-petersburg as a turist, but she was there when she studied at shool, 50 or 60 years ago!
I don`t like to travel, because i am too greedy to spent money and, frankly i am too lazy for do something like that :D My favorite life is to sit at home 6 or more months (and i don`t need quarantine for that, lol), eat, sleep, work in my garden and play width my animals. :D And build, i always build something.

One of my past work was to travel near of the Moscow in various small towns, I repaired computers and servers in government structures - with all kinds of notaries, registrars, tax officials and even the police. But then I got tired of it and I left to sell hamburgers at McDonald's, worked there some time and then completely stopped working at all, begin to be jobless, got a bunch of animals, I don’t go anywhere, but only work in the garden, vegetable garden and cribs. When my old acquaintances suggest that I get any past job or at least go somewhere to travel, I look at them with superstitious horror
Therefore, if you are planning to watch something in Russia and travel somewhere, I absolutely can not help you, because I rarely go anywhere from my village somewhere further than nearest construction markets, shops or farms where I buy poultry or animals.

I know this too. :hugsI go to the city once a week to get what we need. Its usually meat and fish. Our lakes are closed for an undetermined amount of time so no fishing; and we're leaving everything else alone until a time warrants. Ironically, I can never get enough of our wyld turkey and deer feeling such freedom...or any other species...

Most of the goats, sheep, alpacas, etc. in my area aren't as fortunate. Same with fowl. They are blessed to have you, and for you to watch over them.

IgorsMistress, may i ask you one (maybe stupid, sorry) question? I am foreigner and english language "studied" only by cine, cartoons, and computer games (in my childhood learned in one simple country shool where was only fields, piglets and cows, there was one teacher of foreign languages, but she spoke only german and french, and after that i studied normal only german, another languages i know a little, but speak width much mustakes and sometimes don`t know some words). Well, can you translate, what is "IgorsMistress"? I know what is "Mistress", but the word "Igors" i can`t find, what is it? This is any fowl, or any animals, any people, or any name, or what?? I see you in this forum more as two or tree years, always want to ask, but always shy ))
Sorry by the question what can be stupid, but sometimes i can`t find some words in the dictionary on google-translate
Please, your question is not stupid. Have you ever heard the story of Frankenstein? Dr. Frankenstein was a scientist who created a monster from a corpse. His assistant was named Igor, and when the Doctor would order him about he would reply, " Yes Master"
One day my husband was working on some things to help me and whenever I asked him to do something he would reply, "Yes Mistress!" We were just being silly. So my name means I'm his boss.

Good snowy morning. My internet is out because of the wet sticky snow so I’m on my phone. I’m going to test the whole “snow adds nitrogen to the soil” theory just because that’s the only thing that will be going on in my garden today. I’m still waiting for my HC to be delivered. I need to check around and find the safest way to pick up a few bags of compost. I know I don’t have enough in my piles for all the garden beds. Love that you found the asparagus @pasdechat73. What an awesome find. According to my weather app there’s only one more night of temps in the high 20’s then Spring finally arrives. I’m hoping that’s true because my peach tree is starting to burst into bloom. Since I’ll be stuck inside most of the day I guess I should make bread or clean, or something domestic. Have a great warm day all. 🐣
