Def house cats. THe camera angle skews the size. Wild cats, bobs, mountain lions have distinct shapes, tail carry, we have them here. Those are simply normal prowling housecats.

Thanks! There is a yellow colored feral cat we see occasionally.... probably the white cat in the pic. The other looks more calico, but who knows since it’s in b&w.

@TropicalBabies what an awesome update! Too bad you didn't have your camera, your pictures always remind me of my one trip to the islands. But I'm so glad it worked out so well! We all so need the things that make us feel refreshed. We went fishing yesterday and caught a bunch of smallish perch, most were fed to the Charlie the heron and the ospreys, and the rest will go in the hope for the vine maple. Sitting on that dock and waiting for another bite is so relaxing, it's the happy place I go to when they take my blood pressure.

@Acre4Me Oh man I was really hoping your predator troubles were over! Raccoons are the worst.

@Sueby YAY for your tomato! I am so ready to start eating home grown tomatoes, I search the branches so much my bushes are going to complain I am invading their space.

No rain but some is expected on Sunday so I watered this morning and gave excess garden vegetation to the chickens and rabbits. Time to move the bunny tractor, they seem to like it if I water the lawn just before I move them to that spot. It's fairly warm (for here) and they like the cool I'm sure. We have to dig a huge hole today for the vine maple, can't put the job off forever, at least we have the fish for fertilizer. Best get busy, hope everyone has a great day!

Mini baler, rake, and disk mower came today. User manuals are crap.
TOO hot and TOO humid to work on it today. We unloaded it this morning from the delivery truck, then moved it into the shop. We were soaked in sweat by the time we were done. Temp 89 dew point is a tropical 75.

I worked in that all day yesterday, and am paying for it today. So exploring it further will have to wait until tomorrow. It still needs adjusted for height and hook up, and the PTO needs set up along with the control box. I am eager to hay, but ya gotta set it up all right and not break it. It will NEVER pay for itself, but at least I can mow and hay as often as I want and WHEN I want it done.

@Acre4Me I don't worry about cats too much. Usually they sneak around at night hunting the mice you have around that you don't KNOW you have around. They really aren't too interested in the big fat hens. Chicks yes, but usually just nocturnal mice.

Rain expected tonight/tomorrow/Sunday. So I weeded and fertilized the tomatoes and peppers. Since I crowded them in their beds I also thinned out the lower branches. It took awhile to get it !

was going to fertilize the strawberries, but spouse used ALL that fertilizer to spread on the grass!! Why, no idea...in the past we’ve used LAWN fertilizer. and, of course, neither the kid who was directed to use the fertilizer nor spouse who directed the kid to use it told me they used all my fertilizer, so that I could get more when I went to that store Where I had purchased it previously (in another town). I was there only a few days ago getting traps for the murderous raccoons.

Neighbors potatoes were impacted quite a bit by the Colorado Potato beetle. They applied seven dust twice already, but I saw some more juvenile beetles yesterday. Only one made it to my potatoes, but I killed it as soon as I saw it. Now they will have resistant bugs.

Off to set traps for the coons!

yes, I won’t worry about the feral cats. They could never get into the chickens and I don’t think there are too many around either. They can have ALL the rodents they want!!

We have 3 mostly feral outside cat they will eat peeps they will stalk my silkie but they are protected here .. I have found a cat in nesting box sleeping in the winter birds are not worried about them they all know each other

Wild feral outdoor cats are protected there? (or the silkies?)By you? or by law? Cats here are not protected. They're a pest in the country and in the city are not allowed to roam. In fact, people here dump them in the country. Many humane societies will spay/neuter strays and sell as farm cats, and while some cats are good mousers, most aren't. They're too well fed by their owners to care about mice.

Usually the poor things get hit by cars, starve to death, freeze to death, succumb to disease or parasites, or are eaten by coyotes.

We brought these as kittens they are altered but still feral but not to us three here of our dogs.
People dump them but we are off the beaten path so not here ..
There was a load of kittens up the road from us never a danger to our birds there ..
