@Nigel27 Beautiful garden, awesome gardening! I would love to know where- what state/zone you are in. It would be helpful to us to start, then all your garden secrets of course...
@Acre4Me OMGOOOODNESS!!!! :loveSuch beautiful and delicious little morsels. I am so sorry for your little MIA and I hope you find the little critter or are able to solve the mystery soon.

Beautiful gardens and harvests all!!!

Aloha gardeners!
I yanked out most all of my heat stricken plants the other day and am letting my little chicks play in the proofed beds this morning. They get pretty happy about the field trips and behave the rest of the day if I give them a few hours in the box.
My wheels are turning and I am rethinking my little garden space. IDK... maybe it is just my summertime blues and I should just let it pass... thinking maybe just fruit trees and a BBQ space like DH wants. Maybe switch to winter container gardening for awhile. Hmmm 🤔
We went up Koke'e the other day. So peaceful cool and LOVELY. Not sure why I came down... Oh yeah, chickens and horses. I'd love to clear some more forest and make a pen and some more grazing space and a BIG coop so we could bring the monsters up for the summer. Dream, dream, dream. The place is a sea of Kahili ginger and the sweet smell just hits you as soon as you open the car door. The quiet is deafening except for the birds. No tourists, no helicopters, only local hunters and families at the park thank goodness, giving this place some time to heal. View attachment 2295892View attachment 2295890View attachment 2295900
The normally shy deer are coming up and munching on the Agapanthus and they ate ALL of my lily blooms. StinkersView attachment 2295885View attachment 2295888View attachment 2295904View attachment 2295889
Well, we did not mow or walk or picnic. Just a couple of sweet white peaches and a cup of Joe. Guess we will have to head back up in a few days. ;)
Not sure if I had shared these photos yet. 7 chicks in a bowl of sand. Been a busy few days.View attachment 2295905
Such little weirdos. Well, folks. Love the recipe swaps, really love the Zuch chips, up my alley.
I love Ulu chips, or breadfruit chips. So ono! So will try the Zucchini ones for sure.
Have a wonderful day all!! Stay well, get dirty and enjoy!!!
I’m in zone four/five on the B.C interior coast. Bella Coola, B.C, it’s insanely beautiful and secluded. We have different zones on different ends of the valley. Compost mulch and lasagna composts are my not so secrets, I hate weeding.
my broody hen broke an egg, she cleaned it up pretty good but I wonderif I should clean the remaining eggs?
And does anyone know what kind of bantams I have?

I made zucchini muffins and 2 loaves of zucchini bread but it's not as good as the recipe I used to use. Pilsbury quit making their nut bread mix which was the base for the zucchini muffins. My daughter said she thought the spices need work and I think she is correct. I also made a double batch of the corn & cherry tomato salsa today as well. I also manged to go see my mom and take her a vanilla milkshake and a couple of zucchini muffins,
I still have 11 zucchini sitting on the counter and 13 cucumbers!!
Hubby is requesting zucchini fritters so that will be on the menu for dinner tomorrow. Tonight I made stuffed green peppers and used some of the green peppers from the garden.
Tomorrow I am going to go help pick grapes at my friend's vineyard. (They let me bring home grapes afterwards to feed to the chickens ( and to make grape jelly with!).
I also need to get wax put into frames so I can add the brood box and the super to the bee hives. I also want to dig up and move the jalapeno pepper plant and the habanero pepper plant. They aren't getting enough sun where they are so I want to move them to where the corn used to be.

@NewBoots - thank you! I hadn't thought about parm for the chips!

Ya'll ever had a tomato plant that didn't produce a single tomato? I have a San Marz that looks great but hasn't had a single fruit! It now has some flowers on it, we shall see. The others are all producing great. :idunno

Morning all. Not much happening, just took a walk through the garden & grabbed some pics.
Some mushrooms at the garden gate that popped up overnight:

The giant squash plant that won't let me in the garden anymore:

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning gardeners. Nothing doing in the garden today, but I have this going on today. Mille Fleur d'Uccle are hatching. Started with 6, 2 were questionable at lockdown and tossed this morning. 2 more have pips. Hopefully they'll all hatch today and I can put them under mama tonight. Have a great Wednesday all

Good morning gardeners. Very cool this morning. It got down in the upper 50F's overnight. A walk through the garden showed how sensitive the cukes are to temperature. Some of the leaves just curled up and started to die off. A few of my Romas had bottom end rot so I decided to pick all the tomatoes that had any pink or red on them. They can finish off in the safety of the kitchen. I may freeze the cherry tomatoes that are ripe now and use them in sauce for canning later. I could only find one bird house gourd on the vines. It's about 2 1/2 inches long right now. There are a lot of blooms on that vine so I'm hoping I'll get more than one gourd. I don't have any plans for the garden today. I have a telehealth doctor's appointment later this morning and I need to finish prepping the house for the appraiser. Tomorrow afternoon when the inspection is over I can get back to gardening. Have a great day everyone.

OMG so cute! And what is that plant with the long spike of flowers on it? The foliage looks like banana but I doubt that's what it is. It's gorgeous!

We're having fritters for lunch with tomatoes, and dinner is bbq pork ribs with chard for the healthy bit. :)

Oooo pics when they are all hatched please!

Good morning gardeners, overcast here today and we are still hoping for some rain in the next day or two. Watering and critter seeing to is done for the day, waiting for the tea water to boil. The shredded zuchs are in a colander in the sink draining, and I think I can see the end coming for the zucchini plants, they are starting to look tired and they have all produced like champs. I think I'll make more chips and a bunch of fritters that I can freeze for later to save as much as I can.

Just starting to harvest tomatoes.

I'll pick some of the less ripe ones tomorrow in case that rain actually hits.

But, I found a few holes in some green tomatoes and large caterpillar poops. I don't see any holes in the foliage though. What do you guys think? Hornworms?

My guess is hornworms. They don’t leave the leaves, they just eat right through the entire thing and munch on green tomatoes too.
