What did you do in the garden today?

Tansy is invasive plant causes stomach bloat now do not know it Chicken are affected like cattle and horses bag or burn it Please
Hi, thanks for the information. We live in Germany where the plant is s native. The information I read mentioned issues if the animals use it as their only food source. Goats can eat it but in small amounts, humans can drink the leaves in a tea and it can be grown on the boarders to keep down mosquitoes, flies and wasps.
I will do some further research here with our farmer. Thanks again

Yay, you have your roof! I'm jealous.

It is a Wood Rose and the closest to the morning glory in plant world, it grows wild here crawling 20+ up our trees in the wetter areas and can be quite amazing. A native to South America not Hawaii. Great for wreaths and other decorations. Thought a few of you gardeners would think it pretty nifty. ;) View attachment 2328362
It is fantastic, I love it! So def flowers, not nuts? It looks like nuts, lol.

I hate morning glory it tries to suffocate our plants and is almost impossible to kill
I assume different kind too, we have this decorative vine kind:

Thanks to all who shared good recipes! Who shared the keto bagels? They look great! I got to spend 6 months on Prednisone last year; doc put me on Keto to help with the weight gain and I have not looked back. That said, @Wee Farmer Sarah, I will keep my eyes open for a GF/DF bagel recipe. There has to be a good one out there!
:frow That was me. They are fantastic if you do keto. I make them 5 batches at a time in the food processor & freeze them. I get 7 bagels out of a batch, 6 & they are too big. It's so nice to have an option for sandwiches.

Morning all! My day off! Not much happening in the garden besides green beans. Horrible tomato year, not even sure it's going to be worth canning anything. I might just make a batch of sauce & freeze it. :idunno

Have a good one.

Good morning gardeners and welcome to all the newcomers. Nothing going on in the garden right now. It seems my little chipmunk buddie doesn't like endive so there's that for my Fall garden. We got a really good rain yesterday afternoon into the evening. I'll pick green beans tomorrow. Also watching the butternut squash closely. Ok, @Compost King now I want one too! It looks lovely. Depending on the height of your greenhouse, I use clear vinyl shower curtains for my chicken run over the winter. Nice and thick. Fold up and store easily over the summer. They have lasted through two New England winters so far and are still in great shape. It might be an option for your greenhouse. I still have tomatoes to can, toying with the idea of making more salsa. I'm also still getting okra. But generally working on winter preparations here. I have my stove pellets, the pellet stove is scheduled for annual cleaning the week after next and the chimney sweep arrives on 2 October. The entertainment for yesterday was produced by my little golden girls. So Goldie Locks, apparently found a dead (hopefully) baby toad. The three little ladies chased around for at least 15 minutes trying to capture the dead toad from Goldie Locks. Funny, the old hens were dirt bathing and totally oblivious to what the littles were doing. So that was just another day on Sarah's Wee Farm. Have a great day everyone.
