What did you do in the garden today?

It does sound good, it's like 4lbs of pears & 2 1/2 cups of brown sugar. I'm with you @Wee Farmer Sarah, I won't eat any because I don't do sugar, but the Christmas jams are always a huge hit.

Speaking of, if anyone has a min, can you look at this recipe? They say it only makes 4 half pints. Does that seem right to you? I feel like it would make more than that, but I guess I need to plan as they have it noted.

That looks just about right. I only got 2 when I made my apple butter and it was using a bit less ingredients than that.

Added mammoth sunflowers in pots to the greenhouse, They were planted in August or July, its falls and they are in pots so maybe they stay short enough to stay in the greenhouse. I was told they would have finished by now but they haven't. I have smaller sunflowers germinating now, as well as Oregano, Basil, Ginger and a giant paste tomato hybrid I want to take cuttings from all winter long.

The Ginger is from some ginger root I did not use up in the kitchen and out started to grow those new growth on them. I took the root and put it in dirt and its coming up. Ginger is a nice dark green tropical that grows perfectly in a corner of a greenhouse.

Good morning all. Been busy trying to catch up in here since last night. @igorsMistress have a good day today whatever you have planned with your extra time. Temps have been super nice here. Think I am going to replant the seeds I list due to planting before a hurricane. My coop is where all my hard work has been going. Coop is done for the winter at least. Now for the chicken swap on Saturday. :celebrate Dog approved the coop too and he has done so good with my babies. We did a good job working with him. Still keep an eye out but he loves watching them. I'll get some garden pics this weekend. Too bad it won't be my raised beds. Hubs has worked on the fence and coop doors though can't talk too bad about him.
Your dog has chicks. I think there is a collar or a drop for that.

I agree, sounds about right. Don’t you have local pear orchards? I rarely buy fruit from grocers anymore.
That's what I did, got a box (28lbs) for 25 bucks from an orchard down the road. I was worried that they'd be smaller & hard to peel...and they are. :gig That's why I figured BJs would be better, the pears would be much bigger. But I much prefer to buy local too.

Still no frost. Looks like we'll go straight to a freeze with a dusting of snow, after we hit 71 tomorrow, OC.

Will be baking cushaw squash all day while I'm working on bills and adding things to etsy.
Canning or freezing the squash ? Cushaw makes a great pumpkin pie . I still have some canned .
