What did you do in the garden today?

Well, I checked on the habanero and Jalapeno pepper plants that were in their own little mini green houses ( made out of school bus windows). They did not survive the temperatures the other night in the mid 20's (26 I think was suppose to be the low temp). Not sure if it was because of the metal around the windows or something else. At least now we know not to do it that way again. The air was a lot warmer inside the structure when I opened the window to check.

I am almost (finally) done cleaning out my Mom's storage unit. I have 13 more boxes to go through, a very packed van load of furniture and things to take to a co-worker tomorrow, a pink chair, an antique table and an antique side board to move out and an antique toy wooden doll glider to deliver to a relative in Kansas City(??) plus a box of stuff for my brother in Arizona and a couple of boxes for my brother in Arkansas.
One of my friend's that just retired from teaching has agreed to go on rode trips with me to deliver the goods!! Oh and 2 or 3 more boxes of Christmas decorations to drop off to an animal rescue place that turns around and auctions them off online to raise money to run the rescue! ( They auction all kinds of stuff, not just Christmas decorations).

Ya. Me too. The animals don't get it. DH left late so he could swing by the polls, so the dog's schedule was super out of whack, on TOP of the time change. So after he left, she started running around the house barking. I thought we either had a space ship landing in the back 40 or underpants gnomes were taking over the laundry room. Nope. She just wanted her 9 am (now 8am tooth chewy). Good grief.

Good morning gardeners. Happy election day! Best wishes to you and your wife @jerryse for a speedy recovery. The winds yesterday were wicked bad. I had put up the shower curtains on the west and north side of the chicken run but the ropes could not restrain them from flapping in the heavy wind gusts. I need to get new bungee cords to connect the rope. The wind chill was really cold. The wind is kicking up again today, but thankfully not as bad. Looking forward to the warm up. The good news is the leaves that were stacked 3 inches deep in my backyard have been blown over the fence. Just a few piles here and there. Lucky me, that cuts down on my "to do" list. But it's too windy to get any outside work done today. I'm just hoping things settle down so I can let the chickens out for a little while at least while I'm cleaning the coop. Here's the name of the hanging food cups. If you just paste this into your browser you'll find a variety of places to purchase it from. I got mine from Amazon because they were a bit cheaper. Ethical Stainless Steel Coop Cup, 10-Ounce [2-Pack]. Have a great day everyone and don't forget to vote!
