He comb only had the start of some blueing and it faded a little when I started checking her out. Our kitty Batman, who is quite the mouser has left his kills around that area b4, so I did assume... but you never know what certain neighbors do an how far a rat will travel...Is the cat ok? Do people poison rats there? I’ve read that a blueish comb can be an indication of lack of circulation. There’s also something called Bluecomb but I haven’t read anything about it, just saw it when I was researching something else. Maybe just keep an eye on the rest of the gals and see how things go. If you still have the wild birds visiting then who knows? It could be a disease but it could have been a stroke or heart attack too.

Yeah, I read the bluing was circulation, heart, etc. She did not have foaming or liquid. I made a mistake on Eva's age, she was 2.5. I first thought was heart attack, then egg bound, then infection, but everytime I lose a chicken I guess all over the place. I drive me crazy trying to solve the mystery lol. Main thing is the rest of the flock is fine, I feel lucky. I have been expecting my older gals to start thinning this last year, just figured it would be an older gal in the summer when it is hot and stressful.
Thanks for the thoughts and help
