What did you do in the garden today?

ok. fixed the threading error on the loom. I'm halfway there. (loading the beam)
I'm taking a quick break, then I'll go down and do at least two more sections. I'll save the rest for tomorrow. So many threads, so many.

Then threading, then sleying, THEN I can start weaving. Phew

Very pretty colors!

I love gingersnaps! Yum!

Morning all. Supposed to get some snow today, so far I've just seen sleet. Then the big one comes on Wed/Thurs. Some models are saying a foot plus. :idunno

Not much happening here - except my lettuce is growing like mad. I thinned it out yesterday.

@WthrLady can you send me a link to your store/shop?

Morning all. Regarding saurkraut, I'm with you @NewBoots. I wasn't a fan when I was a kid but I learned how to cook it when I got older. My mother would open a can and heat it up, yuck! I make mine with bacon, onions and apples and thicken the pan drippings then add the rinsed canned sauerkraut and let it simmer for 5 to 10 minutes. Very tasty. No baking yesterday, I had to clean the pellet stove and then there's the 3 loads of laundry. Roasted chicken with roasted carrots and parsnips for dinner then went to the holiday light show. It was really nice. Then there was the added bonus of driving through the more "country-fied" neighborhoods and enjoying the houses all lit up. I will be making the shortbread cookies today. The contractors are coming back tomorrow. Oh well.

Morning . Finally got my test results for covid . We are all negative . So I guess this last illness was just a cold . Over it now . Waiting on a little warmth before I start wood working in the garage . Yes I do have a heater but I like the big door open for better light . Yes vision is poor .

Morning all.
Woke up 10 degrees and a windchill of -12. Bleh.
Tossed a pair of mittens on and a windbreaker to walk soup to the next farm, elderly couple. Dog didn't even want to come with me. LOL.
They're burning in the parkland, so it STINKS outside.
I washed my hair when I got home so I could stand being near myself. OC THEN the dog wanted out.

OH well. The extreme cold flash dried my hair.
Dried apples simmering on the stove for hand pies.

@Sueby the link is in my signature line below.

@Fishychix I hate to say it but that was my clue something was wrong too - tons of dead branches coming down all the time. Good luck, big trees are wonderful but evil at the same time, lol.
I loved my pecan trees. When I moved here 8 yrs ago, I had 5 big beautiful pecan trees. Two fell over and had to be removed, wet and rotten inside, two had to be cut down. I feel like a black thumb tree grower. The one pecan tree isn't doing well. No pecans this year, hopefully I can help it next year. I did have a pin oak tree that was split into two trunks- one bent over the chicken yard, one straight up. I asked the tree guy to cut the bent trunk down- he cut the straight one. Oh well. Trees are expensive to cut down and have removed. If they were not so expensive, I would cut down that huge magnolia tree and put up something better- maybe a dogwood. Until the money fairy gifts me, I guess I will continue to pick up those seed pods, rake leaves and pick up all those infernal sticks.
