What did you do in the garden today?

Good afternoon all. Not much outside this afternoon, it’s chilly and there’s a breeze blowing. Nothing needs water and I don’t feel like pulling weeds. I talked to hubs about a bunny run. I’m suffering from allergies in a big way this year and don’t think the hay inside is helping. The mini coop will undergo a conversion to bunny house and we’ll add the run to it. Today though, I hung out with the ducks after giving them clean water. They are growing so fast! I’m going to have to ditch the waterer tomorrow afternoon and give them a gallon bowl instead. They’re big enough now I don’t have to worry they’ll drown in it, but they need something deeper to wash their wee faces. Here’s a few pics

HI everybody, I had big plans for today. Lots of little things that needed to get done, but I apparently through my back out while sleeping or something. Anyway, I can barely walk today 😢 let alone sit or stand up.
I've rubbed gel on my back, taken Advil several times, tried a muscle relaxer, and now a stronger pain pill ( left over from some surgery or something). Plus heating pad and massaging heated back revitalizer. Nothing seems to be helping. Tomorrow we are driving to Poplar Bluff, MO to look at 2 houses with my son and his family. It's a 2 hour 15 minute drive each way. Thankfully I have heated seats. If I'm still dying I am going to have to call a chiropractor. Never been to one before but I think now is the time to change that. Well my back doesn't seem to be responding to the pain pill but I can feel my brain getting muddled and have caught a lot of typos so I had best get off the computer for the night!:lau

Have you tried ice then heat? Ice will help inflammation and then heat will relax you. Drink water, water, water. Hope you feel better!

Damn girl be well

Sorry to hear you are feeling bad @karenerwin. My concern since your back ache came on suddenly overnight: are you having any shortness of breath? I walked around for two weeks with what I thought was a "fibromyalgia back ache" and it was actually a heart attack. It's not uncommon to have back pain rather than chest pains especially women. If you have any additional warning signs such as numbness in your hands or feet, or fatigue, please see a doctor. Women tend to minimize their symptoms and that can lead to poor outcomes. Yesterday was quiet, got a lot done. Cleaned the chicken coops, did some cleaning in the house. I didn't get the leaves raked up as it was drizzling and snow showers all day. Today is sunny so I may manage to get them picked up. I made the gluten free shortbread cookies. They are ok, but the recipe needs a little tweaking. I think I'm finally finished with Christmas shopping. The contractors are on their way to finish the basement and the exterior work around the window well. Apparently they will be painting the kitchen ceiling as well. Right now the big storm heading our way on Wednesday is looking like the worst will be south of us for a change. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed. Regarding the sauerkraut recipe @NewBoots, I prepared that for a Thanksgiving meal a few decades ago while living in Germany. I had invited my German landlord and his family for dinner and they devoured the sauerkraut. High compliment I think.

Morning everyone.

@karenerwin I hope your back is feeling better today. :hugs Do take what Sarah says seriously though!

Got the waterers and feeders all topped off, coops stirred up - everything prepped for this foot plus of snow we're supposed to be getting. I just have to remember to take the outside feeders down tomorrow - they are waterproof but I'm not sure they are blizzard proof! DH has the generator all set up, dual propane tanks attached, my car will go on the lift in the shop with the tractor under it for snow clean up. I feel pretty prepared. Bring it Mother Nature!

I have a pumpkin cheesecake in the oven & no idea what to make for dinner. Is cheesecake an option? Ohhh I forgot, Peapod had spiral hams on sale for .89 cents a pound - thats dinner! :highfive:

Have a great day all. :)

Thanks, No, no shortness of breath or any other symptoms. I did just get off the phone with a chiropractor. I have an appointment for Thursday. I've never been to one before, but I think this time I really have to go! I am moving around a little better today, but that isn't saying a whole lot. Thanks for the well wishes!
