Still feeling drained, but getting there. Whatever this infection is/was that triggered my panic attacks is brutal. No, it's not Covid. I am prone to strep and staph infections with my Rosecea.

Managed to get pecans, hazelnuts, and chestnuts into the soak today for planting in a couple of weeks in the potting shed.

I want an proper structure outside, but am having trouble justifying the $1200 price tag for a real building. I have a pop up green house 6x9 ft for spring, but it's not what I WANT.

I need to make a list for the seedling supplies I'm out of and go pick up compost soil and potting mix. I'm not sure I have enough for the trees. And several of my flats split last year.
laundry list is made, now I'm awaiting the motivation to drive to the city to go marketing.

I think it's all procrastinating on threading the loom. I do dislike doing it so.

I'm already going to be building strong trellises for tomatoes and cucumber. It would be hard so add a few more vertical poles with strings running horizontally on either side of the corn rows. This would act as reinforced for the few rows of corn.

Also make sure you plant the corn deep enough for the roots to develop a strong anchor.

Good afternoon gardeners. Took the pups to the park this morning and stopped at Home Depot for some dirt, hubs got a new air compressor. Guess I should have paid closer attention to what I got from Gurneys, it was potato food not the seed potatoes yet so no planting those today. I got the bulkhead spigot for the duck pool and the organizer thing for my garden bucket. We are currently watering the grass and hubs is making more water buckets for the ducks. I got the mulch moved out of the garden expansion but I need to move frankenwagon somewhere else and get the boys out there to move our fire wood up onto the patio next to the shed. I found out our city moved up the bulk trash schedule for my neighborhood by two weeks, most excellent news that. I also got the rebar out of the ground and the blocks turned over for now. Hopefully tomorrow morning I can get the garden wall moved and get the last of the blocks picked up and moved into the garden until I can build that planter. I also want to get the walkway finished up tomorrow.
Anyway, gotta get the boys going on moving that wood while I bathe the dogs. It’s a nice afternoon and it has far too long since their last one. Have a good afternoon everyone

Afternoon all - once again no notices for this thread, this time I know for sure I didn't miss it. So I have some catching up to do!

It is mushy out there, upper 30's & 2 inches of rain = ick. I cleaned out the coops yesterday before the rain so everything is nice & fresh out there. Added some wood chips to the run too.

I never did pull the rutabagas as they just didn't get big enough. They still have some greens on them, maybe they chickens will like them - I should try. This batch of littles are so brave, they eat all the veggies scraps I put out, my old wenches never liked anything till they got older.

I have to say, this is my first EE & man do I LOVE those muffs! I think she has a beard too. It cracks me up every time I see her.

Hey hey all -- had lots of plans for the garden today and none of them happened, thanks rain! I did manage to add another layer of used shavings into some of my beds once the rain stopped, but gah trudging through the mud is awful.

I got DP and I Sloggers boots for Christmas and it's been one of the best purchases ever. I got ours from Amazon.


I need to plant the snap peas soon so I removed the old brussel sprouts, tidied the fennel, pulled the weeds/grass, and mixed in the bunny poo. Now I really do have to go through the seed bag from last year before I send in the order for Adaptive Seeds. I love their catalog, almost no pictures, just clear descriptions of the crops, required growing conditions, and where the seed came from. Catalogs with those pictures of flowers and fruits with what is clearly fake coloring go right in the burn bin. Heck, I recognize some of the same pictures from the seed catalogs my dad used to get and that was 60 years ago. Hudson also puts out a really nice catalog too. Ooooo, garden porn.

back from farm store and grocery, which was oddly crowded for a Saturday night.
I managed to pull a muscle or pinch a nerve in my neck putting on my coat as I left. Dang it. I am just falling apart. Now my neck and to my collarbone sting.

Grabbed doggie nail clippers at tractor supply and saw 8 bags of seed started mulching soil in the clearance zone for 10 each, so got those.

Then 1.5 hours and $300 later at the market now home. Bleh. Fabulous DH is putting away the haul.

BTW Spring Clearing Sale in my etsy shop for anyone eyeballing anything in the past. I need to find my sewing machine table under all the stuff and get back to work.

Today was a long day. Was woken up at 4:30am by a hungry cat. Went to go take blueberry cuttings and came home with 3 blueberry suckers 13 cuttings and 8 muscadine cuttings. 6 of the muscadine’s and 2 of the blueberries needed to go straight into the ground and the rest had to be potted up. I managed to get everything were it needed to go and raked enough pine straw to mulch directly around the plants tomorrow’s job is raking enough for the rest of the bed. Also went by the feed store and got chicken feed and bird feed.

collected some blueberries and tomatoes and gave my chickens a hot oatmeal with garden fresh blueberries. Made the flock some fish soup for my little chickens and ducks to enjoy it was a cold day and i wanted them to enjoy something hot
