What did you do in the garden today?

Can you use it for popcorn?
Not sure... It isn't advertised a a popcorn variety, but that doesn't mean it will not pop. We have an air popper, so maybe we will try if it grows well.

Edit: I found this info on a sight called dengarden: "Glass Gem corn can easily be dried for decoration, popped for popcorn, cooked into hominy, or ground to a beautiful cornmeal."

My gardening duties today were not much. I adjusted the grow light over the flower starts and uncovered the two trays that have sprouted. I then repotted a small aloe plant I've had for about two years. It has resided in a coffee cup since I planted the tiny start a work friend gifted me. It has survived that way for the last two years or so. It hasn't been thriving though. So today I planted on one of the 6" grow out pots I got from Amazon. I hope it will appreciate the extra room and the improved soil, which is amended with peat and composted manure.

Good afternoon gardeners. It’s getting cloudy and breezy but we’re not supposed to have rain possible until Sunday morning the last I heard. I went to check on the duck weed and do believe it’s multiplying. I’m going to divide the plants in half this weekend and use two containers for a while. The ducks may get some too. Hubs cleared off a shelf unit I’m going to use in the shed so my plan for tomorrow is to tackle that and get my gardening stuff moved out there and organized. I’m going to start work on some of that when my daughter gets back. I think the small bed I’m creating in the garden for shallow root items is a good place to cover with a wire tunnel trellis but am reluctant to use wire with the heat here so I’m still thinking that over. Anyway, here’s a few pics from today, have a great weekend everyone!

Planted a mulberry bush, fertilized the Asparagus, ran some irrigation piping to the mulberry, and re positioned an Ice Cream Banana tree closer to the house. Also contemplating which new branches to cull off the Papaya tree. Little fiddling around with the girls right underfoot of course! Still at the 'coin flip' phase of, well, do I plant the stuff now OR, remember it still is only February and we still can get a cold week, so best wait until early March? Within a few years, hopefully, I am retired and that 'concern' is the MAIN concern I have, and not just a fleeting moment concern pushed aside by the usual 'not retired' concerns of work....
