What did you do in the garden today?

The IG might like the kids as long as they didnt fall on him or something, the cat now. Yah, my sister had a cat and long story short, it got cocky and was pawing at the iguana, who eventually had enough (ig was only about maybe 3 foot long at this time tail and all not the huge dragon he grew into) and came around with that tail and caught little kitty kitty right upside the head, all but knocked the cat out. For the remainder of that 2 day visit, that cat steered WELL CLEAR of that lizard and screeched and cried like a fire engine every time it walked into the room where ig was, caged or not, and the Ig would just nonchalantly let out with a little half assed hiss and the cat would take off like a lightning bolt. I swear you could almost see the Iguana laughing at that, I know I sure was. My sister was a bit pissed but she got over it :D

Currently -6 with -16 windchill and an advisory that it could dip as low as -30 windchill. My butt ain't going out today.

ETA: We should have had two or three days like this already this winter season, but this is the first! What odd weather we are having this year... Derechos, weird late cold snaps, lots of hail last summer. Really throws a wrench in the works.

Good morning gardeners. It’s breezy outside but not too bad. We took the pups to the park and they were ecstatic. They are taking naps now and I’ve been out to divide duck weed and refill the duck pond after emptying it. I tossed the tomato and pepper sprouts. I’ve neglected them and they were struggling so going to direct sow after we run some errands and then clean up the tomato cages. I’m experimenting with soaking the seeds in seaweed fertilizer first to see how that goes. It’s supposed to be beneficial for tomatoes and cukes. Also, some dirty bird was munching on my Armenian cuke sprout and pretty much killed it. I bought some bamboo yesterday to make a trellis or two because otherwise hubs will procrastinate and not get one done in time for the squash. I have a few t posts I can attach them to for additional support if necessary. Not much else happening here. Duck poop tea is great for the plants though. I gave a few shrubs a little bit this morning and the other pool is looking gross after just one day. I’m sure there’s mud in it because it’s out by the compost pile and lemon tree. Oh, and I thought I was picking a dead leaf out of the duck weed bin but it was a dead lizard. I think I’m going to use a small plant saucer out there for lizard water so they can get some without drowning. Ok, that’s really it, have a great Sunday and Happy Valentines Day!
