In late 2018 I purchased alpine strawberry seeds from Burpee. Reviews indicated a few months in the fridge helped germination. Packet said seeds could take up to 30 days to germinate. So, I started them in January. Some germinated in 14 days. Some took closer to 30 days. And I got a little better than expected 60% germination!
first year, they were setting roots, so we got a few little berries. Last year, they gave us many more. And all season long. They are in their pots in the garage for the winter and producing a few tiny flowers for the past couple of weeks. They are hardy. The berries are small but flavor packed. The taste is different than a regular supermarket strawberry. We had some in a large pot on the deck, along with 2 geraniums, and they looked so nice together!
