What did you do in the garden today?

The school district I retired from is still allowing some snow days and also having some virtual learning days. Today is a virtual day. Yesterday was professional development or something. The previous 3 ice/snow/inclement weather days the kids actually got to stay home and just be kids!
Of course this was the storm with the most snow and they have to go virtual 🙄 but at least they still get some real snow days.

So, our run and coop back up to the barn, providing protection from the worst of the winter winds....USUALLY! But, that wind was coming and deposited a lot of snow into the run. The roof extends out 10 feet. The bottom step was completely covered, as you can see.

This is under the coop...it is really really protected, as the coop is about 2.5' above the ground and roof and walls everywhere. But, still - all snow in the entire run! Very unusual for this much snow to invade the run.

So, chickens they are! Scary Bad snow!!! Hence nice human keepers shoveled the run around the coop, and spread out lots of nice straw to make the snow less scary! I'll give you one guess as to who is the top hen (hint: she's silver and black and names "Sylvia").
