What did you do in the garden today?

Currently have 52mph winds and had 3.35 inches of rain overnight and it's still pouring. Just happy it's not snow like out to our west. I'm hoping the first 8 hours of rain was slow and light enough that it got my pasture fertilizer in the ground and just didn't wash it away. Otherwise I'm going to have the greenest french drain zone! LOL

Only going out today to get weather reports done.
Think I'll sew today, we'll see.

I had been waffling on whether to grow anything this year. Then, I called my sister and asked if she's getting any soil for her gardens. She is, and said I could buy enough from them for the amount of containers I want to use. So, it's settled! I'm growing some stuff! I'm definitely growing some tomatoes, maybe I'll add peppers to the plan! Or do a bunch of herbs..... hmm..... time to look at what my containers will be able to hold.

Also, my gaillardia are coming back with the warmer and sunnier weather, and the mum that survived last winter is coming back, too. I'm curious if my asparagus survived, but won't be too upset if they didn't because I have tons of seeds left.

@Artichoke Lover, those are gorgeous! DP wants some of those pinky centered ones for sure, do you know the name? And @Fishychix, love those chicken gardener helpers you have! Rainy cold day today so not much gardening, I just took a batch of oatcakes out of the oven and I don't know how good they'll taste but the smell is heavenly. I planted some purple cabbages during the early winter and some are starting to form heads, but one of them bolted. I'm pretty sure a seedling shouldn't be doing that. Anyway, the ladies got it so that'll teach it. :) My snap peas are ready to transplant into the beds so I'll have to get the posts and netting up this week. I made a big pot of chicken, pork and rabbit stock the other day and I picked over the bones and veg and there was only a tiny bit of legs bones that got tossed in the trash. All the rest crumbled enough to give to the dogs and chickens.

Oh and the oat cakes are delicious, munching on one now.
