What did you do in the garden today?

@Artichoke Lover, those are gorgeous! DP wants some of those pinky centered ones for sure, do you know the name? And @Fishychix, love those chicken gardener helpers you have! Rainy cold day today so not much gardening, I just took a batch of oatcakes out of the oven and I don't know how good they'll taste but the smell is heavenly. I planted some purple cabbages during the early winter and some are starting to form heads, but one of them bolted. I'm pretty sure a seedling shouldn't be doing that. Anyway, the ladies got it so that'll teach it. :) My snap peas are ready to transplant into the beds so I'll have to get the posts and netting up this week. I made a big pot of chicken, pork and rabbit stock the other day and I picked over the bones and veg and there was only a tiny bit of legs bones that got tossed in the trash. All the rest crumbled enough to give to the dogs and chickens.

Oh and the oat cakes are delicious, munching on one now.
They are called Replete. They are some of the most vigorous I’ve seen this patch is only 3 years old and 2 years ago I forgot where they were and double dug the area didn’t hurt them a bit! I moved on of the bulbs I accidentally cut in half and it put up half a flower and this year the new patch is twice as big!

Good afternoon everyone. It’s perfect temps and sunny today. We took the pups to the park at sunrise, came home and took a walk through the veg garden. No beans or tomatoes have sprouted so I may bought a few tomato plants, one sweet 100 and two San Marzano. It’s already flitting with the 80s off and on so no time to start over. There are a couple of small cuke sprouts out there, the broccoli is ready to harvest and then I’m pulling the rest of the plants one day at a time for ducks and bunnies. The luffa is still going well and so are the squash. I got some fresh basil from my neighbor so I’ll make a trip to Sprouts tomorrow for some tomatoes to make bruschetta. The duck pools have been drained, rinsed and refilled, then the ducks got some feeder fish. I got the kitchen cleaned up, the living room, and the bunny pen. Our first project in fall will be moving them outside. I’m pretty sure the hay is a huge factor in allergies for us all and they are just too messy, I can’t stand it. Anyway, back to work, I need to run the vacuum now that my daughter is up for work. Have a great night all.

I raked up some thatch yesterday and tossed it into the squash bed. I also took the raked up mulch from last summer's run, put it in a tote, and hauled it up to the greenhouse. It'll be potting soil soon.

Today I didn't get much done. I'll blame it on the time change.

I bought 3 Ozark Beauty strawberry plants today.... My strawberry tower is now complete.... Provided the alpine berries actually grow. I bought the seeds last summer. They've been in the freezer this entire time so I might buy more as a backup.

I also broke down and bought 2 Anaheim pepper plants and 2 Red Bell Pepper. Planted them in the raised beds with my blueberries and Chokeberries since those are all first year plants and won't need all the space this year that I gave them.

Lastly, I also picked up some Dill and a Sweet 100 cherry tomato. Didn't get time to plant those before it started raining.

Dh just canceled tomorrow's client. Doesn't look like we'll be going anywhere. This is the back door view.
