What did you do in the garden today?

I thought I was taking a video of the chef trying to toss broccoli into each persons' mouth but apparently I did not start the video until I thought I was turning it off!
Of all the times I've tried to capture a cool video, exactly one time have I succeeded. :) And Happy Birthday!

Today I watered the grass seed, prepped a second round of "toilet roll seed pots," and then just sat around and watched the little chickens for a bit. One of my "pullets" is about to get rehomed...Jules is NOT short for Juliette, methinks. Spent some time with the three amigos before we send Jules packing. *Sigh* it's always the cutest chick who grows wattles...:hit

Today is my birthday! I worked my 12 hour shift and then when I got home hubby and I went to a Japanese restaurant where they cook at the table for you! I thought I was taking a video of the chef trying to toss broccoli into each persons' mouth but apparently I did not start the video until I thought I was turning it off! :lau :lau
My oldest brother asked what I was going to use my birthday money for ( yes, I just turned 59 and I still get birthday money! LOL, not complaining!). I told him either a new yard cart/wagon, or new grow lights or a seed mat (like I have heard some of you talk about).
I was wondering if anyone starts their onion sets inside in pots, but it looks like @WthrLady was posting about needing to get hers potted up, so I will try that this year too.

happy birthday!

Well the dogs are still here. We think we may have found the owner, if not we got the contact info for a Great Pyrenees rescue from the Australian Shepard rescue we used to foster through. They can do the microchip check and will try to find the owners. If they can’t they adopt them out to a good home. This morning is going to be busy I’ve got to clean the coop, plant the last dozen or so daffodils move all my seedlings inside and water them and weed both gardens before it starts raining around 9.

Good morning all. @karenerwin Happy Birthday! @Artichoke Lover I hope you get it all done and stay dry! Our weather has been a roller coaster ride and nothing is changing this week. Up and down all over the place! I’m just waiting for the sun so I can get outside to plant the starts and wet down the weeds to make them easier to pull later. Then I’m back to housework for the week. I’m purging and cleaning this whole week so I can back to painting, I’m ready to work on the living room and hallway so maybe I can get one of them done among the other stuff on my list. Have a great Monday all!

Because...

We all need to try something new now and again.

Neccessity is the mother of invention.....

We need to replace the fence that goes around the chicken run - not an imminent need, but does need improving.

So, what does a pile of clearance boards, and a turkey fryer have to do with each other? A Steam Chamber!

Why? to bend Pressure treated wood to make the posts for the improved fence, so it curves to meet the roof overhang!

LOL! If we get enough done to make the fence, it will be interesting to see it completed!

I decided to do 3 5-gallon buckets with some paste-type tomatoes (Orange Icicle), and my 20"x24" rolling box will be Sweetheart of the Patio Cherry Tomatoes. I hope to have tomatoes coming out of my ears this year, as I plan to prune the indeterminate paste tomatoes (which I have never had the courage to do before)!
