I forgot to mention this @Sueby. I've had bush beans that sent out tendrils. The packet said "no trellis needed" but they really did as they got to nearly 3 feet tall.
yes, true. @Sueby they can produce tendrils, but your pic does look more like a pole bean bc the tendrils on a pole bean are all you get...they gotta climb, whereas my bush beans produced tendrils like that later. @Wee Farmer Sarah i used twine between posts to keep the tall bush beans in check. I’d pound in a post at each end of the row, and some more in between. As they grew, would provide a supportive, horizontal length of twine between the posts, for the length of the row. I’d add another horizontal length of twine higher up as they grew taller.
