What did you do in the garden today?

Hey Gardeners not been out to chickens yet had 100% of my 4 eggs hatch. There is three more, one pipped for up to 3 days later.. My split lip from the trip over the lab is healing great

We have some sort of jasmine or jasmine-like plant popping up in our yard. I think it's a "volunteer" coming from the neighbor's yard since it's near their fence. Is there a way to make sure it isn't the asian type without waiting for flowers? I'm considering whether to relocate them to that slope to see how they do there or if I should kill them (if I can). Snapped a quick photo of one I came across. The leaves are very flexible and sort of shiny.

Mmm, did somebody say dandelion salad? No? Just me then. 🤣

@TJAnonymous Thank you for the link, I'll add those to my list of potential materials for future gardening, especially if we end up on a slope.

I just took a walk down to the garden while there was a break in the rain. Along the way, I was picking dandelion puffs and blowing them into the pasture to help colonize the pasture with dandelions. It occurred to me with a bit of irony that most people around here try to kill the dandelion and here I am trying to propagate it.... It's good for the horses, goats, chickens. I don't eat it myself but I could/would if I had to

Hmmm...this has more green stems. Hopefully not the same!! I may let it alone for a few weeks and see how crazy it is? But I am moving it far away from my "on purpose" plants.

The garden has now been cleared of all the pop up prairie grass.
I'll take the tractor down tomorrow and load the bucket with everything I pulled and dump it in the compost pile.
Then I'll spray and mulch.
I still have one alpaca to catch and do his nails this weekend.
The second 8 foot greenhouse shelf is done, but I need DH to help me get it in. It's LONG and heavy, and the space requires two people.
The 3rd shelf needs custom built as well, but I can't measure for it until shelf #2 is in place.
56 out and 82 in the greenhouse with the top vents open and the door wide open.
I THINK I've figured out a window prop I can live with that keeps them from rattling like mad in the wind.
As for secondary air flow and a fan, that's next.

Gardening is a never ending battle to keep EVERYTHING from killing your plants.... Never a day's rest... 🙄

My strawberries are fighting chlorosis. I can't test my soil ph because it is about to storm again. (Long story about this....) So as a quick ditch effort that I'm probably going to regret later, I tossed about 2 tablespoons of Ammonium Sulfate in the soil to try to lower the pH a little.

Tomorrow I can actually test the soil and go pick up an iron foliar spray. Sometime next week I will take actual soil samples to the extension office to get a more accurate test.
