What did you do in the garden today?

@littledog we don't really have cicada's here in CT either. I mean I've seen 1 or 2 in my life, but not the hundreds coming out of the ground & you don't hear them. My friend lives in NC & will call me when she's sitting outside & you literally cannot hear her over the cicadas. She says you get used to it & don't really notice it, I don't know about that! :gig
True. Very loud!! But you tune them out.

we lived in Cincinnati in an old established neighborhood (so lots of mature/old trees) during last brood cycle. Cicadas everywhere, loud all day long. At least they don’t bite or sting!

Apparently they're totally harmless. not only do they not bite or sting, they don't munch on our plants or really do anything except mate and make lots of noise! I kind of wish I could experience them...briefly.
Travel restrictions have eased up quite a bit. You could try a weekend getaway to Maryland, Virginia, North or South Carolina today.

Well I had to rescue my daughter last night . Blew a tire . Had the car towed and waiting for new tires to be put on . Booked up so maybe Monday . I looked up that norovirus and I think I have it . Thought I might be over it but no . Bummer as today is our last dry day for a week . Maybe I will be up to planting the tomatoes later today . Grass will need mowing . Going to wait for a opening next week . If I do it today I will be too tired for anything else .

I kind of wish we had them here- they seem interesting.
If you get a large box from me in July and it rattles and buzzes when you shake it, open it outside. ::LOL::
I like it when we get to the point in fishing where the fish throw them back and ask us to change bait back to worms. Even the hens get to a point they can't eat another one. DOG LOVE to eat them. They taste like peanut butter popcorn, so I'm told.
DS used to catch and play with them. You can make little harnesses from floss and fly them in circles. Ah life before electronics.

No big plans for the day. DH is going to dig the curly dock out of the pasture and fill the holes.
I'm heading for open market about 1130.
Dog has a grumbly tummy today, no idea why.
Screwed up the rain forecast here last night, so am irrigating the seeded area of the lawn. Hens cannot go out until the seed either washes into the cracks or sprouts :headsmack:
Get this, my greenbeans aren't coming up?!?! WHO can't start green beans?!?! Kindergarden kids can start greenbeans FCOL!!!

I MUST find a bowling ball. I'll bury a short piece of 4"PVC pipe and paint it and sit the ball on that. Otherwise I'll be chasing a bowling ball all over the ranch.

Have a dirty day all :)

Time, toast, bananas, rice, applesauce and drink lots of water.

If your doing a lady bug you are going to want to bury the ball some and it shouldn’t roll . You could also bury a piece of rebar and set the ball on it in on of the finger holes then push the soil up around it . It shouldn’t go anywhere
