What did you do in the garden today?

Still have to catch up, but I picked this pineapple on Monday. Forgot to take a picture and I didn't weigh it either, but it was a little smaller than typical grocery store size. Very sweet and less acid than a typical pineapple.

Watered. And questioned my decision to seed a bare patch in the front yard with buckwheat. I honestly thought it was a type of grass for some reason. I like it, but its not a grass

Watered what remains of my container garden, and the in ground garden this far. Stark Bros is delivering tomorrow! Super fast shipping! Faster than Amazon.... So dh is rushing to finish garden beds and if we can't get soil in that fast I'll buy some bags to make do.

Almost anything that uses chicken can use rabbit. Not because “it tastes like chicken,” but because it has a lighter flavor than beef, imo. My favorite as a kid was browned in a skillet and smothered in brown gravy (over rice) or when it was fried like chicken.

I don’t think either of my parents had a recipe. They just cooked it.

No recipe, but I love rabbit paella, which is a Spanish baked rice dish.

So I should cut it up before cooking?

we processed the last 4 rabbits today, so I’ll let them rest in the fridge for a couple of days (?) like I would do with chicken.

I remember the rabbit being cut up. I would guess partly because there were five in the household and partly because it was easier to cook that way.

I have a book of rabbit recipes from when I was raising meat rabbits. I won’t be home ( where it is at) until the 12th or 13th. Hopefully I will remember to find it and send you some selections
