What did you do in the garden today?

First turtleneck of the year .. dropped to the low 40's today
We haven't had any 40s yet! Probably end of the week, or next week.

I pulled weeds in the garlic and second onion bed. I want to turn the topsoil over; I dumped a lot of compost on it after I harvested the garlic and onions there. The weeds went to the chickens. :thumbsup

Nothing garden related today, save buying a TON of seeding supplies that were on clearance at Home Depot. I ought not wander the store. Their clearance tags are phoney though. Their 'before' prices are a joke.
I paid $4 for a jk 72 pack seedling tray which they say the 'before' price was $20. WHO WOULD PAY THAT?!?!?
I also finished the chicken run roof today. It took 12 hours over 2 days to rip of the old, repair and install the new roof alone. Today I finished that trim and seal. That feels SOOOO good to have done, SO good.

What did you do in your garden today?

I picked a bunch of Rattlesnake green beans and Cherokee wax beans, a few tomatoes, three eggplants, some broccoli shoots, and jalapenos. Pretty happy with today's harvest!

Need to bring the Chicago fig tree into the garage for the cold months.
Need to find use for all the Jerusalem artichokes I have. There's a lot of them...
Need to plant garlic and walking onions ASAP.
Still a free pumpkins and butternut to pick if they are ripe.
Need to clear the annual herbs.
Need to collect every tomato and pull the plants soon - this weekend likely.
Need to weed the empty beds.

I'm also considering building a small deck for the ducks to give them a place out of the mud. I have put a LOT of mulch, wood shavings and grass clippings down in their run but it keeps turning back into mud.

I'll be planting the potato onions and garlic this weekend, I think. The first year I did garlic, I planted it November 1st, and it did very well.

While I was weeding those beds, I found some of those that I'd missed had sprouted. I'll let them be, and just make sure I mulch well. The tops will freeze and die back, but I bet they'll sprout up again next spring.
