What did you do in the garden today?

my chickens eat slugs and snails. slugs here are small size, up to 1 in.

I caught and broke a few snails to teach chickens to eat them. when I add new chickens the old ones teach them that snails are snack.
Is it okay to feed chickens slugs and snails? Don’t they have worms the chickens can catch?

I have heard that worms carry worm eggs that the chickens can get. I have no idea if it's true or not, but I don't encourage them to eat worms because that thought is in the back of my mind!

(I did google if worms give chicken worms & found quite a few sites that said they do, but I didn't look hard enough for scientific results & didn't check on snails or slugs)

How long are you leaving peppers in the vacuum sealed bags? And are you adding 3% salt by weight?
Yes we do 3% salt i use coarse sea salt and we typically leave them for a couple weeks before further processing the fermentation process does not stop however until they are refrigerated we’ve noticed

building coop for my araucanas. no gardening till we get some rain. soil is as hard as concrete, I am not going to waste my strength.

I gave 4 rabbits to my neighbors who have 3 kids. for some reason they didn't grow well so they would not make a meal. kids are happy to play with them.
