What did you do in the garden today?

G’morning garden folk. It’s nice and cool outside so I started in a sweatshirt but am down to a tank top and sweats now. Still wearing a hat though. I transplanted three of the chaste trees, need to mix more soil for the last one but the doggie gods are smiling down on us and we’re taking the pups to play. I’m using a mix of moisture control miracle grow potting soil with an equal amount of coco coir as the mix and put in an old piece of shade cloth inside the bottom of the pots to keep the soil from washing out. Hubs hung my garden sign and the ants today, I picked up all the weeds in the veg garden I pulled the other day and brought in the oregano to dry, will get that hung after the park. The drainage pipe is perfect size for the buns, we went and got that earlier. Sunday I’ll do more work on that yard to prep for moving day. I’m going to put some lettuce seed in the big pot I have out there this afternoon, that yard is good for growing anything that likes shade in winter. I bought some seeds today, nasturtium, dill, cilantro and marigolds to start next weekend. I still need to go buy some spray paint for some old chairs I’m recycling. Not sure about colors yet though. Anyway, time to go, stay safe and healthy all!

Stared at it under 6" of snow 🤣 We just moved and are starting over from scratch. Literal scratch, the garden plot was a wheat field last year before the house started being built. So now we have hard packed dirt that needs a lot of love. Irrigation lines go in hopefully February and I've got the worm bins working to give us some black gold to till into the ground when it's workable. The girls are helping add fertilizer to the mix as we have them temporarily stationed where the beds will go. But for now, staring and wondering how the heck I'm gonna pull this grand scheme of a 3000 sq ft garden is gonna go this year.

My husband took me to the doctor yesterday. My boys didn't want to go. So, we have influenza A. No big deal but I thought I might have strep throat, but I didn't.
Crappy electric company had my power off for another 1 1/2 hours this morning, 3rd time this month!
I made this from my frozen peaches from my orchard. No, it's not burnt, it's cinnamon sugar.
