What did you do in the garden today?

Stared at it under 6" of snow We just moved and are starting over from scratch. Literal scratch, the garden plot was a wheat field last year before the house started being built. So now we have hard packed dirt that needs a lot of love. Irrigation lines go in hopefully February and I've got the worm bins working to give us some black gold to till into the ground when it's workable. The girls are helping add fertilizer to the mix as we have them temporarily stationed where the beds will go. But for now, staring and wondering how the heck I'm gonna pull this grand scheme of a 3000 sq ft garden is gonna go this year.

Try growing in straw bales this year.

Just finished working outside, moving snow blocks, and wind breaks and shutting up the barn.
I moved my oldest ( and most favorite) hen into a toasty box in the heated workshop. Lucky girl.
Shifted some manure to some trees and called it quit as the freezing rain was starting to soak through.

My husband took me to the doctor yesterday. My boys didn't want to go. So, we have influenza A. No big deal but I thought I might have strep throat, but I didn't.
Crappy electric company had my power off for another 1 1/2 hours this morning, 3rd time this month!
I made this from my frozen peaches from my orchard. No, it's not burnt, it's cinnamon sugar.

Ooooooooh, such an awesome project! Be sure to take lots of pictures before and while the work is being done. we moved onto an empty 1/3 of an acre lot and I love looking at the work in process pictures.

Ordered two peach trees for the spring. Ordered from grandpas Orchard in MI. We bought 4 trees from them last year and they seem healthy. But, I’m a novice, so I’m assuming they are healthy!

Ordered from Territorial seeds. Tried to order from Burpee but website was having issues.
