What did you do in the garden today?

We use oil here, I don't want to have to fill up any time soon. Can't see the gauge under the foot of snow so I'm good. :gig (seems oil is more of a New England thing)

It was 2 degrees when I woke up today. Had to go into the office so nothing going on here in the garden. Supposed to be warmer the next couple of days. Melt some snow before the next round!

We had liquid heating oil in Ohio. The one winter the heater went funky and the black smoke filled the house and stained and stuck to the walls and ceiling, OMG.

Oil used to be popular in Illinois too, back in the days, but the gas company came thru, laid all their lines down and convinced everyone that gas heat is sooo much better and cheaper.. yah we'lll see about that huh? I remember many buildings from the 60's and 70's had big oil drums in the ground or whatnot that they'd use for the furnaces in the winter.

We had some nice almost-sunshine for a while this afternoon, and it got up to 46 degrees. Temp is dropping now, it's raining, going to change to snow overnight. Tomorrow will be a mess. So glad I don't have to go out in it.

The deer have knocked down part of the fence around the garden. The only bed they've pawed and gnawed is my Egyptian Walking Onions. :hmm I wouldn't have thought they'd be interested in them.

you are in Michigan? Maybe at this time of year, it's so snowed over up there they'll eat anything green they can find. Being onions, their aroma, was the only greens they could find! ??

Oh yeah, they're digging up the grass, myrtle, ivy; gnawing on the fir tree greens, eating just about anything they can find.

When they got into the garden last summer, they left the onions and garlic alone.
