Another article in the same book had 4 pages of companion plants and what the effects are.

Anyway, I found it all very interesting so I wanted to share with you all.
Hoop house new plan.
I was attaching the upper supports and two of them exploded while drilling. One was bent and under pressure, So I decided to remove that problem and drill it flat, then put it back up. BOOM. So obviously, contrary to instructions, PVC is NOT a strong enough material for this.
I do NOT want to spend another $100 to replace these supports, which I've done once already. So far I already have $400 in supplies sitting here and that's NOT counting the 2x4s for the ends, the doors etc.
So the NEW plan is to put in the beds and stake them in, and run the irrigation. If the top ever gets built, then so be it. Prices are just too high for screwing up and wacky materials. I might be better off building it our of lumber, which I MIGHT just do.
What about the stinging nettle?
I for a free pack of Armenian cucumbers from Jungs with my order. I never grew them. They look different than any cucumber I've had before. So they taste similar though?
Curious why you don't can your tomatoes? Last year we only canned salsa, hot sauce, and jelly (blackberry & grape). This year, I'd like to do more canning and maybe use the dehydrator. I'm thinking of canning tomato sauce, hot sauce, pepperoncinis, and probably do more jelly since I get a ton of blackberries and some grapes. DH has forbidden me from freezing anything this year since we still have barely made a dent in the freezer space.
No they don’t taste the same. An Armenian cuke has a slight melon taste but not sweet, and I’ve never had one that was bitter like a regular cuke can be sometimes. That being said, I use them like regular cukes for the most part. They are fantastic chopped into a melon salad or sliced for water also.I for a free pack of Armenian cucumbers from Jungs with my order. I never grew them.
