What did you do in the garden today?

I know yall have been on this thread a lot longer than I have so just thought I'd ask...
Do yall ever share your garden layout, plans for the upcoming season? I'm a visual person and am trying to get an idea of how best to use the new space I've got in back near the run.
Of course! Maybe share a pic of your site if you can and that might help with ideas.

PS I don’t ever have a plan because I always change my mind.

Well I have a 4' x 16' raised bed below our deck that I went crazy with last year and did beef master tomatoes and cherry tomatoes. Had way too many tomatoes but they were delish!
I have 5 of the large plant bags that can be moved anywhere...currently under edge of the deck from where I had lettuces in them.
But my excitement is in the 80sqft of space from where I collapsed my chicken run and husband had me a new run built but it had to be less space cuz of wood prices sky rocketing again. So I have some amazing dirt in that area next to the new run!
Maybe yall can tell the 2 spaces from these pics.
I'm thinkin ill use leftover wood to build a planting shed and do it up against the run to aid in my not bending over as much.

That is a lot of space! What else do you want to grow? What do you like to eat? It doesn’t have to be all veggies. Flowers attract pollinators and look pretty. Do you want fruit trees or bushes? Herbs?

We have a 90% chance of rain tomorrow. It’s windy and chilly outside today, back up to 79 by this weekend. FedEx told me my lilac should be delivered by yesterday and today the updates are pending. Why do they bother with that service, they suck at updating any info.

We have clay soil here...so I was blown away to find foot long worms and some smaller ones big around as your fingers when I was trying to scoop up the pine bark from old area of run and put in new run!
So I'm looking forward to growing all kinds of stuff! We have some lillies that are somewhat invasive so you have to thin them every couple years. So I've got quite a few of those I'll put in and around the run.
Luv basil, parsley, cilantra are mostly what I use when cooking.
Loved the lettuces I grew last year but the kale and spinach got eat badly by something that looked like white veining on the leaves...then next day the leaf would be gone! So I only got to eat once off the Russian kale.
Chickens luv the lettuces as well so I ended up treating them to it rather than risk eating critters on it.

Yeah we got flooding here and downpours! Dipping back down in temps again ugh.

I can relate to clay soil. When I started my soil was so bad and we had no worms. I was excited to find some the other day when I was weeding and such. That’s always a good sign!

Maybe plan what you want to grow and look for companion plants. . The companions can either be bait or a deterrent.

Mixing in flowers and herbs loved by bees is a great way to ensure that any fruiting vegetables and fruit you are growing get pollinated. Also it's good for the bees and butterflies as well. It also makes for a visually pleasing garden.
