What did you do in the garden today?

The celery survived and with all the rain and warmer temperatures, it's starting to resprout from the center really quickly. I spread a big bin of rabbit litter on the beds but I need to stop being so lazy and get started on clearing one of the compost bins. @igorsMistress, my shredder is supposed to arrive today!
Wow, that was quick! FYI the clips that hold the chute thing on were backward and hubs had to change them around.

Not sure if I was here today.. had a blood draw this morning had 3 hatch ...
@TJAnonymous Please do not be so hard on yourself :idunno

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saw a ridiculous number of redtails here today. :(
I went to a birds-of-prey information show once at a museum. They brought a red-tail out and introduced it and then the lady smiles and says "Does anybody know another name for the red-tailed hawk?" and my butt has to pipe up loud enough for half the auditorium "Chicken hawk!" It was the right answer of course, but then the lady launches into how it's a misnomer as they don't actually prey on chickens. Cue me muttering "tell that to Papa after they flew off with some of his in broad daylight" Made DH almost burst out laughing, glad he got it reined in because his laugh is LOUD. I get trying to un-demonize the poor birds, but don't go making stuff up. Just teach people how to keep the birds out so it isn't an issue.

I watered today. :p Other than that I added more pine shavings to the tub of chicks in my living room and drilled a ton of ventilation holes in their tub. Needs a whole lot more still, but the the "baby timer" went off and DD would not stay outside another minute. Changed their food and water too.

DH, when he's home on time anyway, has been puttering on the chicken coop/run in the evenings. Got the corner uprights done, the top edge lumber in place, and the shipping crates that will become the coop all where they're going to live.

the same thing as when people say rats eat only baby chicks/ducklings, etc. you cannot imagine what damage rats did to my flock last summer. I don't dare to keep my silkies in the coop as it is not rat proof. 5 hens and 8 juveniles have been kept inside at night.

getting warmer daytime. I am going to harvest nettle and start tilling my garden. I hope this time forecast will be more accurate. yesterday it said colder then it says today.

Fully enclosed in a 6 foot privacy fence and ancient trees high above and a hedge of rose of sharon on her side of the fence to boot.
Easier to ask forgiveness than permission. Oh, wait, nowadays they spy on us with satellite or drones. We had the county come out to check for some structure that was 3x3.!? It was the lower landing on the deck staircase.
