What did you do in the garden today?

Big storms last 4-5 hours, need to get outside and check on stuff.. I never heard any hail on my tin roof.. so that’s good.. day before yesterday I took the lamp off the chicks, they are plump and fully feathered, so they are now sleeping in the dark, have a few tree limbs to get them off ground and starting to roost.. it’s kinda cool this mornin walked the wife out to the truck at 5:30 she’s working in the office Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s now.. But I don’t have to water so there’s that.. coffee and porch sittin right now.. I’ll get some new pictures of the garden and share.. haven’t taken any pictures in a while.. y’all have a goodun..

The greens/tops can be used just like “green onions” flavor soups, stews or in salads and garnish dishes.. I do the same with my garlic greens/tops..

Aaaaaannnnd.... here comes the rain.

I'm supposed to get 3 lbs of seed potatoes any day now. I hope it's today or tomorrow so I can get them planted. Then the taters are in and I can cross that off my list.

Today will be an inside day. I have bone broth in the Instant Pot, and I might do the shopping so I don't have to waste time on a sunny day. Though being out and about in the sunshine is nice too; I'm nauseatingly friendly and sing in the grocery store.

I really need to get some house cleaning done. Today would be a good day for that.

Can u just cut em anytime or do ya need to wait til u pull up the onion?
Didn't wanna risk killing em like some of my squash by pinching the leaves!

They can be used anytime, I cut the outside top as soon as they are standing firm and tall, not the center greens just the outside ones (they usually bend over early anyway) you can take 1 or 2 from each onion but not all and not the 2 center ones. I hope that helps, clear as mud right?.. I tend to type words in circles sometimes..

Yeah, he only pulled it onto a ramp here. It was cutting fine until now. Fortunately, I still have the old blades and a sharpener. It should be fixed one way or another next week.

I had a push mower that kept getting a loose blade after sharpening . I finally tightened it with a electric impact wrench . Solved the problem .

Rain overnight and light rain now . Ending soon . I have a pair of wrens checking out my 2 bird houses . Lilacs are starting to bloom . My blackberries and raspberries have not bloomed yet .

2.8 inches of rain over the past couple of days.
We'll be 'dry' today, but the rain comes back in force tomorrow-friday. We needed it badly and the farmer's are thrilled for the ground moisture. Then we need a break to get the soybeans in.
We dropped to 39 last night, but nothing in the hoop house or green house look the worse for wear. I think the tomatoes need a does of epsom salt I'll do that the next watering. (1/2 T per gallon of water)
No idea what I'm going to get into today. Allergies from sinus' still going mad, despite the rains - sore throat, sneezing, congested and all.
Go out and get dirty all

Morning. Got some rain last night, that's good because I find it redic that I have to water so much in the spring.

I had to cover every single seed I sowed on Sat because the squirrels just don't stop. Thankfully I hold on to every bit of scrap fencing I cut, hardware cloth works great to cover the beds.

The onions finally recovering after being covered:

The squashes & cukes got dug up bad last night, now they're all covered now too:
