Squash bugs can kill plants if they are there in high numbers. But in low numbers, they wonāt do much harm. Problem is they create babies. So, Iāll assume you want to spray nothing or do it minimally -I try to be selective with my spraying bc I would rather have praying mantis and bees and other beneficial insects. So, scan for the bugs, try to have them drop into a container (like you might do with Japanese beetles (JBs) so they die. Scan the underside of the leaves for their eggs and remove or squish really well. Look for their Non-flying hatched versions (look up pics) and squish those. Try to prevent as many as possible from becoming adults that create more babies. I use a handheld mirror to help scan under the leaves.
