Ya...I'm not a huge fan of grass lawns in the desert. I tried it when we first moved here though.I love all of those ideas!
In California the big deal was having a green lawn. I have no problem with not seeing a beautiful, luscious green lawn at every house. Southern California is a desert, the only thing that saved it was the aqueduct, but people called it the land of milk of honey. It’s not and they’re getting a taste of that now. Also, the state doesn’t allow water collection as far as I know, or didn’t when we were there, which is pretty ballsy if you ask me. If I pay to use the land, the water on it should be mine. Why let it just flow away into the gutter and down the street?!

A ban on that wouldn't be a bad thing. Almost all of the grass lawns I see around here are at businesses. The college, one hospital, a lot of churches and at least one of the casino's. The closest I've seen to grass at a house was when I drove pass a house in town that had green painted gravel spread all over their front yard

No water collection is just plain nuts!
Good day yesterday. Bad day today. Raccoons are the enemy. Going to be fixing fence all day and collecting chick parts.

Hope the fence fixing went well.
