A whole raised bed with pineapples growing more like I would expect, but still so different from what I've ever seen.

You are lucky if bugs don't bother them, that means you have a sustainable source of vitamin C and fiber.

It's supposed to make them last longer. I do it sometimes and other times I don't. I haven't paid close enough attention to see if it actually makes a difference I guess, lol.

Hey what do I do with my single 4 inch long okra pod? Can't exactly bread and fry up one. Lol

I nibble on the tip part to see if I can eat it and if my teeth can cut through it, I sprinkle garlic salt on them and stick them in my micro wave. I half cook them, so they are not mushy.

Sometimes I eat them raw when I walk through my garden.

I am doing an experiment with pine shavings from my brooder. I am using it as a replacement for perlite. I stuck a few rooted lemon grass stems in my pot to see if they thrive. The potting mix look and feel fluffy, but I can tell it absorbed a lot of water.

I ran some ph test and found pine shavings to be neutral 7. However, when I tested the water coming out of my pot it was at 9, indicating that the plant won't be able to absorb nutrients. I made the adjustment with citric acid,. It took 1 TBS of citric acid per gallon of water to drop the ph in the pot to 7.

I would use white shavings not Pine .. Not on new peeps.
paper towel or clean newsprint on fresh hatched without a broody.

NOPE. Stem side up is fine. Butts up looks pretty, but stems up. As longs as they are starting the white green phase, they'll keep ripening off the vine.

We pulled last couple bags of last year tomatoes out and processed with first big batch tomatoes I harvested today and hopefully cook down to 2 quarts sauce!

I pulled a bunch of weeds and grass out of the garden this morning, and just found out DH got the rest when I went to town.

I think that my olive eggers are actually cuckoo marans...
