What did you do in the garden today?

Got about 15 minutes of sprinkle this morning just after daybreak. Not enough to register in the rain gauge, which is normal this year. Was already doin some watering. Left the soakers goin and figured the sprinkle would help out a LITTLE,
Other than waterin, nothin else goin on in the garden.
Brewed up a batch of salsa yesterday evening but was too pooped to jar it up. Was done this morning. 1 Qt., 3 pints and 1 - 1/2 pint. Kinda spicy which I like. The wife said "It's OK".
Oh yeah, the peanuts that I planted 2 weeks ago have started pokin their heads above the ground! Good legume cover crop for an unused portion of the garden and I get a little in return!

Oooh I've never tried growing peanuts before. Is this your first time growing them?

I am REALLY hoping to finally be able to get chickens next spring (maybe even this fall, if we can find the budget for it). I'd be willing to split an order with you (I believe we are only about 1 hour apart).
Oh, man, you are tempting me! I only have room for 3, max, and they'd have to be pullets. I told DH we "need more chicks next spring, so that we keep getting eggs." This fall might be a very hard sell.

But I soooo want blue eggs.....

Yeah, I think the only way is to pull it off with something. You can make a loop, sticky side out, of some inexpensive wide tape like packing or duct and just go at it. Be prepared for a long task and many tape loops especially if it is a big blanket.

I'm not the refund chasing sort (I hate interacting with people in real life as a general rule of thumb) and wouldn't have a receipt at this point anyway, so ... meh. I have 3 cuckoo marans
Depends on the cost of a Marans chick and an Olive Egger chick. If close in price I guess I would ignore it and get over the fact that I didn't get what I ordered.

I would call and ask for a refund of the difference if the OEs are much more expensive.

I store mine in a zip bag in the produce drawer.
I've not grown garlic in a couple of years but when I have garlic to use (now from the store) I leave it in the little net bags it sometimes comes in, put it in the butter compartment in the refrigerator door. Lasts a really long time in there.

Anyone know any good tricks for getting dog hair out of blankets? I've tried everything.... Vinegar in the wash, dryer balls, hanging on the clothesline, you name it.
Vacuum? I honestly would love the answer to this also but I haven’t found a solution in 40 years so…
