What did you do in the garden today?

I wonder if I still have time to plant them here in southeast Georgia. I'll do some research. I would love to make some fresh peanut butter!

I did some research before I bought the seeds and the variety I got was Tennessee Red Valencia. Supposedly they are the variety that is typically grown in West Texas/ New Mexico. So I'm hoping they will do good in the extraordinarily dry conditions we are in this year. Also they are supposed to mature @ about 90-100 days versus 120-150 days of others.
I bought my seed from Hancock seeds where I get a lot of my cover crop seeds

She'd have a heart attack...lol. We've tried to take her to a groomer but most of them around here won't do large dogs. Ours is half Husky-half Great Pyrenees. We love her to pieces but she sheds atrociously...especially in summer. My daughter was giving her baths in the shower and it was clogging the drains because she has SO MUCH hair! Agghh..... We literally vacuum twice a day, not even joking.

Do you brush her? Frank hates a brush, but hubs got these gloves that are awesome and they end up with tons of hair in them. Here’s a link

I just had to buy a new electric pressure cooker. My old one is ancient and is temperamental about working. I got an instant pot brand, I hope it lives up to all the rage.

No gardening today. Too hot out. Looking good otherwise. Better then a cousin of mine. He got hit hard by Cucumber beetles this week.
But I did get kicked off a gardening Facebook group! Kind of equally mad and proud of that.
Turns out if you want to make a new acct, get around a pesky ban, they Require a cell number. Not doing that.

Only the second time. First time I just had a bag of fresh peanuts from the grocery store which weren't getting eaten very quick so I planted some. Ended up with a ten fold return on my investment.
I am getting into cover cropping in the garden with an emphasis on legumes which enrich the soil with nitrogen fixation. A lot of legumes have deep roots which bring up other nutrients, mostly minerals, from down deep and also help modify the clay soil I am blessed with.
Peanuts are a warm weather crop and don't require a lot of water once established and that's what I needed @ this time. I have planted them in an area where corn has already been harvested from.
Plus I like peanuts.
I plan on using them on a regular basis as a soil improver.

What are the requirements for growing peanuts? I've never considered them.

Awesome! I'm going to see if I can find some fresh local peanuts. I live in Georgia and a lot of mom and pop shops have huge vats of boiled peanuts cooking all the time so I would think I'm in peanut central here, lol.

Anyone know any good tricks for getting dog hair out of blankets? I've tried everything.... Vinegar in the wash, dryer balls, hanging on the clothesline, you name it.

Silicone brush/squegee. It takes forever. But it will get most of the hair out. Something like this. They make larger versions similar to a broom.

Actually now that I'm thinking about it. I got put in temporary Facebook jail when I was talking about a certain gardening tool. I was accused of bullying.

Someone got offended. I think. I posted about a deleted post and why you DO NOT. Throw. Anything. In. A farmers. Field. Without. Permission.
Some woman was bragging about getting free pumpkins this year because she had thrown her old pumkins in the neighbors field, since she knew they would compost. Multiple piles of pumpkin plants in a farmers soybean crop.
