Another aggravation I forgot to mention. It's the end of July now and NONE of my luffa plants have set any fruit. Lots of flowers but no fruit. Assuming it's too hot. So I guess I'm not getting any new scrubbies this year unless I buy them.

It never occurred to me to try uv at night to find the dang hornworms! I was so tickled when my garden huckleberries survived winter and started blossoming in spring...but everytime I blink their getting gobbled up by hornworms and I can't always find them.Going out at night with my UV flashlight finally pays dividends. Try neem oil. Ants can be a sign of aphids which neem will also kill. Not too much, will burn the leaves.View attachment 3200800
Ants are all over the cucumbers, cantaloupe and loofa plants. It’s been super hot and dry here. What are you all doing to combat ants?
