What did you do in the garden today?

Everyone is napping this morning but me...

We are supposed to get decent rain starting today for the first in 2 months but so far everything has missed us. Hopefully SOMETHING will start falling this afternoon. The goobermint has upgraded my county to a severe drought. No (bleep) Sherlock. Everything is dead - grass, weeds, and now trees are starting to die too.... We need rain. Badly.
Sending a heart for the babies. I would have sad faced for the drought. 🙁

Good morning gardeners. It's fantastic outside right now, too bad I have to work. It has been raining since before dawn and we've had another 1/2" according to the rain gauge. It's still sprinkling out there, but I went out and pulled a few weeds on my break. Have a great day!

Well something had a darn good time digging in my raised beds last night. Not a cat, not a dog. My options are: ground squirrel, armadillo, possum, some other digging critter. Didn't actually dig up any plants, not that there are many. Just a few carrots I need to pull and a cherry tomato.

Doing good . Ablation seems to have helped . I can walk longer and do outdoor stuff longer . They say it can take 3 months for leisions to fully heal . So I hope to see slow improvement . I can tolerate more salt now . Which is a big plus . 1500 mg was hard to do .
That's awesome!!!

I pruned tomatoes and eggplants ( a whole chicken feed bag full of trimmings). Now I can actually see how much fruit/veg is coming on and maybe there will be some airflow to keep plants healthier.

I snagged a few suckers to root in water for fall garden, replacements or for friends in Phoenix area to plant later. It's interesting to see how the eggplants can have suckers too, Idk if I could root those or not but I have so many more eggplants than I need so I'm not rooting those this time.

Yay!! Did you get them planted?
2/3 of them. I ordered the assortment of three varieties and got way more slips than i was expecting. I dont know if i can plant the last bunch. I have a bed full of randomly placed volunteer tomatoes. Can i plant the rest among them?
I didnt see exactly how to plant them: how deep, how far apart, etc. so i hope I did it right.

Good afternoon gardeners. I did some more weeding this morning. Just need to do a bit more cleaning up around the chard. I picked my first 2 green beans. There’s a couple more that need to grow a bit more. I’ll be picking chard and kale tomorrow then planting turnips and more carrots. I have a few errands next week so I need to carve out some time to dig up some potatoes. We just got a 5 minute downpour that freshened the grass then made it super muggy. Finally getting a slight breeze. The radar shows we should get some more substantial rain later this evening. I’m so glad I watered yesterday. I have a Monarch butterfly visiting the butterfly bush near the chicken yard. I can’t seemed to get a good photo of it. I did get a good shot of one last year.
