What did you do in the garden today?

Urban Farmer sent me an email this morning that they're doing 20% off of everything. Just FYI in case anyone wants to add to their seed stash.

Besides the fact that I am forced to wear two different socks 😂, is the swelling noticeable? I am keeping it propped up on a pillow but it's hard to rest it comfortably.

Here are pictures of my 1 luffa plant and a close up of a couple of the bigger luffas. Like someone ( I think @WthrLady ) said, suddenly you have lots of luffas! Very true here.
Kind of hard to see through all the green... But here's 2 of my loofah plants. I took this picture from the house (maybe 100 ft away?). I have a cattle panel trellis that is attached to my bachelor pen. The vines have grown up the cattle panel and across the roof of the run. You can pretty much only see the top of the run in this photo. Lots of yellow flowers and a good number of fruits growing now!

No ice. I'm also not allowed to take any NSAIDs or anti-inflammatories for at least 3 weeks. In the game of PRP injections, swelling is supposedly good. They say the swelling will go down after 7 days.

This morning I was pretty certain that something was after my chickens. I have one game hen cross who REFUSES to go back in the run/coop so she has pretty much been free ranging it for weeks. I was going to cull her if I can ever catch her just because she is a PITA. Anyway, she usually hangs out along the fence to chat with her friends. This morning I could hear all the chickens making alarm calls. I hopped to the bathroom window and, sure enough, all the chickens were alerting on something going on behind the barn. Ducks were as far away from the fence as they could get. Goats were staring at whatever the chickens were looking at... So my fear is that a fox/coyote/cat/hawk/something ended up catching that game hen since she was nowhere in sight. I couldn't get anyone in my household to care about what was going on as they were all getting ready for school/work so I hobbled out there myself on crutches. Didn't find or see anything. No feathers or evidence of any struggle. But the trek about wiped me out. I almost didn't make it back in the house. I've been taking it easy in the recliner ever since....

Chickens are just going to have to stay locked up today.

I think the mismatched socks would drive me over the edge.
It bugs me too...you have no idea. I had the ankle socks on both feet but the elastic band was putting pressure on my Achilles. No go. Had to take it off... Since I've been TRYING to wear the boot, I put on a longer sock that wouldn't put pressure on my Achilles. Ended up taking the boot off though because it really hurts my foot.

Just brought in 19 pounds of blush and orange tomatoes. This time of year it is a race to see who gets the fruit first. I loathe grabbing a gorgeous tomato only to find a fat grey/brown garden moth worm in it. NASTY.
I probably threw 2 pounds over the fence the hens, wormy.
Not even the BT is working this year.

The heat and drought is making pest control hard.
The weed pollen is so high, I go out feeling ok, but after about 5/10 minutes, I'm hot, itchy, phelmy, and I feel everything heading for my chest and gust and my poor sinus get so inflamed I am desperate for air. It's ridiculous.

I hate to say I'm ready for a freeze, but dang, then I only have dust and mold/mildew allergies to deal with. Awful, awful, awful.

Garden is starting to look a little ragged. I KNOW there are hornworms out there, smaller ones, I see their poo, but they are blending in so well. Holey leaves abound.

It's insane how something so small n seemingly out of the way can cause soooooo much pain! I'm so sorry
