What did you do in the garden today?

Not able to do much in garden since surgery Monday.
I did wanna show yall our little bell pepper!
I started these by seed back in March without any grow lights. It has really taken a LONG time to get just this little thing!
2nd pic is for size reference lol!
How are you feeling? On the mend?

We really like the spaghetti squash that my garden has produced, but the skins are so hard and tough that they're nigh impervious to even the sharpest kitchen cutlery. But I'm a man and I have cordless power tools, so I'm not going to let that stop me. Of course the circular and jig saws would be overkill (c'mon, I'm not a barbarian), which left the oscillating tool and angle grinder with cutting wheel as options. Both were effective at cutting through the stubborn cucurbit's hide like it wasn't even there. But the oscillating tool gets the win for neatness...simply because when a cutting wheel spinning at 9,000 RPM hits the soft guts of a squash the aforementioned guts tend to not stay as confined as one would prefer. Plus the oscillating tool is much easier to use with one hand.

This has been today's helpful tip from the Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor School of Culinary Arts.

I am going to read this to my DH later :gig Nice job!

Good morning gardeners. I watered at 0430 and was sweating a little bit before I was done. That’s this morning not yesterday afternoon. It’s still 90 degrees out there :sick

This new water wand is pretty cool. It has a dial on it so you can increase/ decrease the flow based on what you’re watering.

We are under a heat alert through the entire holiday weekend. I’m a little irritated with Mother Nature over that. The pot of still damp soil I put a plant in earlier this week was bone dry this morning.

All the willow bonsai have been put in pots but I’m having lighting issues since it’s too hot for them outside so I put them all in the front window for now. I also put one of the birds of paradise in a pot to try that as a bonsai as it’s used to the heat here.

That’s it for me. This weekend will be more cleanup from the storm. Still have things to cut down and need to get another compost bin going. Have a great day all.

Still feeling ill. Stomach bug for the past 3 days. But, yesterday seemed a little better, and today also a little better still, but not great.

Beans producing well. Beets and carrots doing well. I’ve been ignoring the tomatoes bc I just don’t have enough time in any chunk to process them.

Then, I’ve got to design a goat shelter for the run. The goats will have their own space on the N side of the run. But we just removed a window in the barn and put in a door. This way, we can access the run directly from the inside of the barn. This should be convenient when the goats are here.

I hope you're feeling better soon!

Considering the 2 incisions are bout 3" each I'm amazed that I've had next to no pain. My pain tolerance must have improved the past 12 years! No pain meds!
Low grade fever yesterday and head all achey and stopped up this morning so idk what that's all about.
Slept in til 9...guess I'll try to water everything tonight.
I just really hate not being able to bend over and do this or that...but this too shall pass!
Thank you for checking!
We need to have a virtual party with us all!!!
