There is NO reason at all to put up with aggressive and nasty birds, when there are so many kind ones out there. I hear so many stories of kind roosters, loveable ones, which is great. I also know that roosters are a HUGE part of the population of NON WANTED birds because well... so with that, if someone really wanted / needed a roo, I don't think there'd be much problem getting a FRIENDLY one, with so many waiting for someone to snag them out of the dog food line, Get a friendly one, a HUGE bonus if he protects his girls too. Life is too short, and there are too many choices to have to put up with a nasty one.
If you catch them soon enough, the meat is very tender too and you can actually eat them and not have to resort them to animal feed / compost. So it's a truly win / win when you do cull them.
