VAN WERT, Ohio (WCMH) — Police are on the hunt in Van Wert County for thousands of weaselly fugitives — minks that escaped from their cages at a mink farm.

Between 25,000 and 40,000 minks are on the loose after a break-in at Lion Farms USA Mink Farm in Hoaglin Township early Tuesday, according to the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office. Suspects, unknown to police at this time, destroyed fencing and opened the minks’ cages, releasing the furry ferret-like critters into the community.

Minks are carnivorous mammals that eat freshly killed prey, according to the sheriff’s office. They tend to pick on larger prey and can be a pest to livestock owners and homeowners with ornamental ponds or pets.

Great, more tree hugger tards on the loose. These folks, once caught should be put through a wood chipper. Let them fertilize the trees they love to hug so much, or feed the minks their remains. Naah poor little animal would probably get the squirts from such a sorry diet as two legged trash kabobs.

So you think you helped them? As how many now starve? freeze to death? get run over by vehicles? attacked and killed by dogs and whatnot? not to mention the damage THEY cause when they start killing other livestock etc etc.

Headed back to Michigan tomorrow. To the inches of snow I hear we're getting. And have to drive through...

Bought a turkey yesterday at Krogers for .69 a pound . About 14 pounds . I will split it so Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner . Yesterdays snow is mostly gone . Temps are going to drop for the weekend . Going to grind some venison today . A friend gifted me a doe .

Our first “snow.” Yuck! We got maybe an inch or two then it started raining on top of it. Nasty slushy mess. I got the chicken run wrapped but I came up a little short. Two of the shower curtains are a bit rough looking so I’ll run to Walmart later and pick some up. No working in the garden today. I didn’t have time to work on the leaves yesterday. I had to drive DD to the doctor again. Apparently her knee is a bit more than a simple sprain. Her MRI is at the end of the month. She likely will need surgery on her knee. Wah! That puts a little damper on our holiday festivities.

The surgery is going to put you down hard. If she's damaged then yah she'll need surgery BUT if she can tolerate the pain a bit, if a few shots or something can get her by until after the holidays, that's an option maybe? I remember when I had my shoulder 'rebuilt' and it was just rotten for the first week. Any movement you did was painful and throbby and just ugh not to mention not sleeping very well so you are a drugged zombie the first 3 days or so. Not fun
