What did you do in the garden today?

Spent the morning sewing a dress for sister. Was short of bias tape by 22 inches, so I'll get the rest I need tomorrow or Friday (depending on tomorrow's snowfall)
Spent the afternoon trying to repair a door lock, which needs the knob removed to replace the lock. The knob is stuck on, to the point of me twisting the steel allen wrench. ARGH.
So, the pros are being hired to replace a 5cent piece of brass I have to replace every two years due to a bad door design. These doors drive me insane!

I do miss cow bone broth. they don't sell bones any more.
I noticed that too. I used to buy femur bones in packages of 3 for $10 just last year. I haven't seen them available all year. Not sure why because my store does their own butchering. So weird....

The sustained temps dropping below freezing every night for days have pretty much killed off everything in the garden including things that should have been frost hardy like broccoli, cauliflower and lettuce. Such a bummer because my cauliflower was coming along nicely. Normally it doesn't get and stay cold like this until January.

Pulled out the zinnias and spaghetti squash. Giving the pattypan squash one more chance to flower before it goes too. The cukes are pushing out new leaves. Tomatoes look like they might start to ripen soon. I filled up a tray with potting soil, but need to figure out what seeds I'm starting. Chilly today, only 72 outside and blustery. I'll need to locate a jacket for my fruit club meeting tonight.
