Or maybe I just did it wrong....Maybe yacon doesn't make good fruit leather...?![]()
I filled my blender with yacon, then added a pre-packaged cup of applesauce (No Sugar Added) along with a dash of cinnamon. Not sure how much those pre-packaged cups measure out to? Maybe a half cup? I added a tsp of stevia just because some of the yacon was more watery than sweet as it hadn't cured enough. Nothing else... When I spread it out on the parchment, it was about 1/8 inch thick. I think maybe I cooked it too long? I cooked it for 12 hrs at 113 degrees.
Good info, thank you. I would have thought it would need more heat, like dehydrated fruit. I do fruit pieces at 135 F, or 58 C.a friend of mine has a small business. she makes fruit leather. she told me she cooks it on max 40 c (104 f).
I keep forgetting to ask him….@Ascholten, do you have a website I can order from?
. Good grief, I realized we're all held together with love, pins, rods, and glue! (Can't say I'm not a little disappointed that there isn't a little duct tape in that mix.)
Oh BFD, what's a little fart between friends?I had to look that up. I can't grow it up in Michigan, I bet, and frankly, I wouldn't. It contains inulin, an indigestible sugar. Which give me gas. I had some GF protein/fruit/nut bars and if I ate one, I was gassy. I made the mistake of eating two only once.![]()
