Wow. You must have willpower. I have a stack of catalogs and keep making new lists because I can’t decide!

Nope, I'm burned out.
Tired of loosing business to the big box stores.
And our impending lack of water is going to naturally whittle down what I put in the ground.

That little guy took the paper out of my printer and stepped on each one and put it back, and his list is getting longer. He threw a piece of candy behind the chair of his grandma's house today at our new year party. Its a good thing my niece told us about it or it would have attracted ants. Now that I think about it, I gave him a sweet grape, but didn't watch him eat it? I wonder if he ate it?

I know it sounds horrible but he would not be allowed in my house. my house, my rules. I did it before. kids that visit my house are allowed to run and scream even if their parents tell them to calm down, but no damages.

Oh it's broken alright, foot is throbbing. I go into the surgeon tomorrow to see what they can do about it. Hopefully don't need surgerybut already had a few people tell me the way it's longwise down the bone and kind of going around it, ill probably end up with a rod / pin in it or some sort of fun.

Ya, that's a pin job for sure to keep it from slipping laterally and depending on bone density there, maybe a rod to support the pins. OUCH!!!

We have to cut water use by 30%. I already don’t wash my car regularly, have spray nozzles on all the hoses and recycle dog water and kitchen sink water to flush the toilet. Not sure if I can cut more without ditching the garden

Ive done things to cut my water use just to do it, to see 'how low i can go', not out of any need or necessity.

The air conditioner, the condenser coils can get you 5 gallons a day easily. Thats good for watering.

I keep a bucket in the shower, when you first turn it on and it's cold, and YOU DONT SHOWER BECAUSE ITS COLD, catch it, its good for many things, I use it for my dishes, making coffee, whatever, because it IS good clean water !

Your washing machine, the rinse cycle. If you are doing multiple loads, do your coloreds last, ie the cold. collect the rinse water from the previous batch and use that as the wash water for the coloreds, throw soap in it and viola you saved 30 gallons of water. the restof the rinse water, throw it on your garden. the soap wont hurt the plants a bit in fact drives the bugs up. It's relatively clean anyways, so won't hurt anything.

Collecting rain water off the roof is HUGE. Grab some IBC totes, for me an inch of rain is about 1200 gallons of water for the plants.

Anyone looking for a good, albeit a gut punch, movie on Netflix - The Bombardment
Fun movie Extinct
Good British comedy Still Game or Derry Girls

Anyone else have recommendations? I have the computer or the TV on while I work in the sewing room or on the looms.

The Bombardment was really moving, it was great. If you liked that, you might also like The Forgotten Battle and The Zookeeper's wife. Both also WWII movies with everyday people forced into heroic roles.
Derry Girls was hilarious, I definitely will check out Extinct and Still Game.
Tonight we watched Inside the Mind of a Cat, if you have cats you will enjoy it.

This morning, I pulled a MAJOR filling out of one of my molars so have a huge hole in my tooth now. This one was in the way back and the filling was pretty much one of those 'instead of a crown I can do this one last time' so it's either major work or pull the MFer at this point.

Oh geez, that's terrible. I won't even do crowns any more, after getting my first implant. The way it happened was same thing as you (giant filling fell out) they sent me to an endodontist - a very pleasant experience, the three hours sitting there was like a restful spa treatment with enjoyable muzak, due to breathing as much gas as I wanted the whole time.
But only a few days later, the crown failed and the remainder of the tooth shattered, so I had no choice but to get it pulled. I had enough $ saved in my FSA to get an implant, and it turned out so perfect, I was chewing better than I had in years, with zero pain which was a new thing - I'd gotten used to having to chew carefully.
The next time another tooth cracked, the dentist wanted me to go to the endodontist, get a crown, etc, "Oh nO, we Need to SAVE your TOoth!" I told him, no way, please just pull it now, and I'll get an implant. I figured the way my dental insurance works, I can pay $600 to the endodontist and another $200 for the crown, it might last a few years before it fails, then I'll be getting a $2000 implant anyway. I'd rather cut to the chase, pay the $2000 for the implant now and never have to worry about it again, than pay $800 now and another $2000 in a few years. Even though it meant missing out on another lovely three hours of gas-induced muzak enjoyment, oh well.

I have thrown away or recycled all the seed catalogs this year. I have enough seed already and need to use what I have before add anything else, and I’m sticking to that this year!

Same here, it's easy to throw away Gurney's catalog, since their plants have failed me in the past. I also have leftover seeds that are still good, and planned on sticking to what I have for this year, BUT! Has anyone ever ordered from "The Living Seed" company? My sister gave me a gift certificate for Christmas, I never heard of them and their website seems to not work very well.

I don’t have the option of collecting wash water from the machine, but it’s low water use and fills according to the size of the load.

I do collect the condensate from the a/c but we are very dry so it’s not much. The only time we get anywhere near five gallons is during monsoon season and I won’t use it on food but other things are fine.

I do catch the water when we start the shower in winter, but in summer we don’t because we just turn it on and get in. There’s no such thing as a cold shower in summer here.

I reuse any water I use to cook veggies to water plants, and we dump the dog bowls into a bucket to flush the toilet with but again, that’s really not much.

I do need to get on Igor about putting up the rain gutters asap though.

the washing machine, the hose that comes out of the back, pull it out of the drain hole and put it in a bucket or get a longer hose and run it out the window into a bucket or something, you can make that work. it's also pretty decent flushing water too.

and NO don't use the AC water for cooking, it has a nasty taste and is not potable anymore due to the fact you did not sterilize it.
