What did you do in the garden today?

Another non-gardening day. We got enough of a wintry mix overnight that has put a coating of ice on everything. Windy but not horrifically cold yet. The sun is shining between the clouds. Temperatures headed into the single digits overnight. Cold tomorrow but should not be windy. I'll likely order some cilantro seeds today. Perhaps a few other herb seeds. My red geranium that is overwintering in my sunroom is blooming now. The plant looks a bit rough, but the flowers are nice. My lime tree is putting out quite a few new leaves. It's getting bushy but really slow to get much height on it. Best of luck to all in the path of this latest round of harsh winter weather.
I think all of New England is going to get slammed on Tuesday. 😭 I'm hearing 8-12" in RI.

I just got my loam/compost delivered. Sunday is going to be very productive I guess.

We didn't lose power, thank goodness. I'm very grateful.

It warmed up yesterday, making everything soften and settle, then froze solid overnight. I can walk on top of the snow right now.

Not going anywhere today. Maybe by Sunday. I wish I could get out and dig, but the ground is frozen solid, there's about 4" of snow over it. There will be a lot to do when eventually I can do it.

At least all the fruit tree buds are tight and small still.

Laughing at a popup ad that just came across the screen on another site.
In deep, serious, broadcaster's voice 'It's 7pm. Do you know where your chickens are?'
Ad for an automatic chicken door.

I laughed and then answered, why yes, they asked for the truck keys and are on their way to a basketball game. OC I KNOW where my chickens are!

My dogwoods are blooming...

Cold and rainy today but will be back in the 60s by Sunday. Got more seeds to start this weekend... Some ground cherries, several types of tomatoes, sesame and a few other herbs. Gonna be a fun weekend.

I have planted a few seeds in the greenhouse, but more importantly I have compiled all my seeds into a spreadsheet so I can know what I still need to order. I have about a dozen or so more plants and start to get...
