What did you do in the garden today?

This cotton-pickin lemon tree....

It's dropping leaves again. They seem to be turning yellow from the trunk up and out. Young and old leaves. I checked it over carefully for pests. Found one tiny scale bug but no others. No other pests. I gave it tree spikes (fertilizer) about 2 weeks ago. And I've been very careful on the watering. I have a soil moisture meter in it to tell me when to water.

This tree HATES me. I swear it.

My lemon tree is bald now too. Dumb little things.

Hey all. I harvested more lettuce today. Thats all I got.

I was supposed to be back to work on Monday but I saw the surgeon today & he said 6 more weeks out. Oof, thats a long time on top of the 12 I’ve already been out.

Supposed to get cold tonight & lots of snow next week. If it snows I’m stranded in the house till it melts. I’ll have to ask the neighbors to shovel a path & collect eggs as DH is most likely gone for work. This sucks, but thankfully we haven’t had any snow yet & I haven’t had to deal with it.

I am totally amused with the flowering dogwood & those growing things. A little early here!

Tobacco Mosaic Virus is similar to the other two diseases I mentioned, and it also has a stunting effect. I am not sure which virus I got, but I found out that Sun Gold cherry tomatoes has resistance to the TMV virus, so I may get an answer soon.

Yesterday we decided to cut off a large limb on the very big maple tree. It provided nice shade, but also shaded a bit too much of the garden for too long each day (during growing season).

I found out that my Better Boy tomato seeds did not have Tomato Mosaic virus resistance which maybe why it got stunted. However, the new Better Boy Plus now has Tomato Mosaic Virus resistance.

I have some seeds with this resistance, so I should get an answer soon, so far the ones with this resistance are not showing any symptoms.

They say that plenty of predators is a sign of a healthy ecosystem. That lake must be in very good condition.
