What did you do in the garden today?

Put in a perennial butterfly/pollinator garden in the old hoophouse. I'll still need to watch for frost/freeze, but it's got hoops so that shouldn't be an issue. The flax is coming up to the right.
The large area, 12x 4 foot across from this will be all direct seeded mass wildflower and zinnia seeds. So hopefully.
I'll also put in some luffa and cukes.
Down to 40 tonight, so I went ahead and covered them, just so I can sleep better.

Thank you so much for this. It is almost exactly what I envision. I’m probably going to do a hoop coop run attached to the coop just like you have. I was also worried about creating additional drafts by adding the run to it, but you set my mind at ease with that as well. I’m going through all of your photos now 🙂
adding the run is no problem at all as long as you allow the run to be well vented as well.
Ours is full wide open except in cases of extreme wind or precipitation.

Saw my diabetic doctor today. A1C is 5.8. He talked me into a Dexcom monitor. If insurance approves it. I mostly resisted more plants. Just one rhubarb root. Frost advisory again tonight. Bought some bone meal. I had 2 days rest so outside stuff tomorrow.
This is the most promising treatment for diabetes that I have come across. I am following this companies progress. They just completed a proof of concept trial in Diabetic Prime Mates with positive results. They already proven that their technology works on mice and now Prime Mates. The next step is human trials.

Yesterday - Not a lot. I had writing to accomplish, first and foremost, then went to work.
But I ordered lumber to build: a yard swing frame; and an extension onto my grape/wisteria arbor for the hardy kiwis that still need planting. I did a little watering of some cuke seeds, as it's been windy. And I lamented over why my second and third succession-planting of peas did not do as well as my first, despite more care and preparation.

I received some new Egyptian Spinach seeds in the mail. Looking forward to trying those out this year.

Today, after I do my writing, a friend is delivering my lumber out here to me. My truck only has a 6-foot bed. I will probably play around with that, to see how high the swing will be. I need to mow. I also need to go across the street and visit my neighbor's chicken house to see what he likes and doesn't like about his build.

I'm struggling emotionally. LOL All my gardening plans hinged on my rototiller. I sent it to be worked on so it would be ready to go for spring. After only about 2 hours on it, it failed and it's in the shop again. So I have TONS of stuff I need to get in the ground and the clock is ticking!

@my

Wood or Stinging nettle
Its garlic mustard! I took it as nettle and did lots of research. It certainty wasnt nettle. It was missing a couple main characteristics. All i had to do was crush it up and smell it. Its garlic mustard. Now I wonder.....do the chickens love it?! Thanks. Loving spring time 😍🌻🌼🌹🥬🥦🌱💕
