Got the last arch put together. Looked at the long range forecast and they’re predicting 33F a week from Tuesday. Seriously!

My compost pile is producing giant mutant worms....Some are so big, it looks like a snake slithering out of the dirt. I've never seen worms this big in my life. They are fatter than my fingers and easily 8 - 10" long. I made the mistake of picking one up and it began to spray me with a liquid from multiple places along it's body... And when I say "spraying" I mean a strong stream of liquid like you spray from a spray bottle or kitchen sprayer. I immediately dropped it, repulsed.
I have so many worms in my garden that when you step on the soil, they rise out of the ground like zombies from the Night of the Living Dead. It's actually quite creepy...
I guess I thought the size was implied?DING DING DING! or a mini flag pole.
I was thinking HUGE PVC pipe.
That looks fantastic, go you!I guess I thought the size was implied?
Well, mystery probably solved!
Yesterday, my husband helped me dig out the gate and gate-side fence posts and move them to the new gate-side. We then used our new auger to dig the holes for the new fence posts. Man, did that thing make it SO much easier and faster than digging those holes by hand! Then, we put in the new fence posts for the extension.

Today, we put the chicken wire up (hard to see, but it's there):

So, my garden is now doubled in size from last year, and completely fenced in! I just need to build a new gate because this one, well, let's say it doesn't work as well since we moved it.
Welcome to Wild Wing Garden!:

I still need to up pot the melons and cucumbers. There was cilantro I needed to plant out and I got that done at least. I also still need to plant beans and the super sweet 100 seeds. That's not much work though and I may still get it done today. Cooking dinner now though. All the tomatoes are transplanted except the super sweet 100 that I apparently forgot to start. Seeds will go in the garden soon. The trellis netting and clips arrived today from Amazon. I hope to get the meeting up tomorrow and the start clipping the plants to it.
All peppers are transplanted and staked to protect them from snapping in strong winds.
I need to plant beans still. And I may need to consider uppotting the watermelon, cucumber and other melons (cantaloupe type), which are all that's left in the greenhouse right now along with a few extra tomato and pepper plants that I will likely give away.
I have 4 yds of gravel sitting in the driveway I need to get working on also, which means I need to dig the old mulch out of the garden paths and level the ground before laying landscape fabric and finally the gravel. Tomorrow will be a busy day... doubt I'll get it all done in a day.
I've been working with doctors for about 30 years, including about 11 years with chiropractors. I recall people coming in for chronic back pain, issues, and my doctor discussing when back surgery is necessary: when the patient cannot walk or when they lose control of their bowels. He said that back surgery is successful only 50% of the time. We had one woman who was in rough shape. She'd had four surgeries and each time she wound up worse. She and others came for pain relief that they experienced from manipulation and therapies. I've never forgotten it.Catching up here while sitting in the truck at Home Depot. I just had to get out of the house but am in too much pain to walk around.
So DH has dug out all around the house, like 8 inches down. Front sills are rotted, hence the trip to HD. A big mess. Anyway, I had him save a couple flowers from the dug beds & had him plant them in front of the chicken run. He has no clue how to dig a root ball to save a hydrangea.I look out & my beautiful hydrangea is hanging from a fork on the tractor he ripped it out with, now hes shaking the dirt off the roots. I'm sure they'll all die. Whatever.
My BFF is a respiratory therapist in a local hospital, we were talking about my back not being fixed after surgery & she laid the 'well that's why they say "practice" medicine' on me. It's so true it made me laugh (while crying, lol).
Beautiful!I still need to up pot the melons and cucumbers. There was cilantro I needed to plant out and I got that done at least. I also still need to plant beans and the super sweet 100 seeds. That's not much work though and I may still get it done today. Cooking dinner now though.
I did get the trellises done and I moved 4 or 5 full wheelbarrows of gravel (nearly a yard) to get the pond area done. Doesn't sound like much, but I've been out all day working in the yard.

Question or comment? They require different soil PH from each other. Doable if the amendments for your soils stay with the plants it's intended for.The spaghetti squash and marigolds are out of the green house, hardening off now. It's supposed to be quite rainy tomorrow, so after the rain is done, I'll be moving everything else out to harden off.
My "bee guru" gave me some black raspberry bush starts. I'm trying to decide where to put them. I think I'll put them next to the blueberries...?
Thank you! I was going to look up what the rasps needed, as the blueberries are already in. I'll find another spot.Question or comment? They require different soil PH from each other. Doable if the amendments for your soils stay with the plants it's intended for.
